I yielded at a stop recently and a car behind me sped up after the stop and yelled at me through their window that i needed to stop at signs and then proceeded to intentionally hit me with their car because they were so incensed. Their daughter was in the car. Just a fun story for everyone.

The number of children injured or killed by cars while walking or riding a bike has fallen steadily since the 1970s, but CDC researcher note that this decline is not because streets are safer, but because fewer kids are out and about in the first place.
Kids need freedom. Dangerous roads make it hard to grant it.
Bigger cars, distracted drivers and worried parents mean fewer kids are roaming freely.

Apparently the danger is bikes on sidewalks. Not cars flipping into poles. No, definitely the bikes.
Another photo. They went through a telephone poll. I often take the lane around this curve to prevent people from speeding around me in a blind corner.

My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

People complain about people bombing MUPs on ebikes and scooters at unsafe speeds. But my overweight and out of shape self can hit 50kph on a downhill on my acoustic bike.
So the issue, if you want to make it one, is the choices of the rider, not the vehicle itself.
