Hoboken is officially a @bikeleague.org Silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community!

Years of work building safer streets, protected bike lanes, and accessible infrastructure have earned this recognition. Safer streets for cyclists means safer streets for all.

This is not the right approach... I own two legal E-bikes that are capable of Class 3 speeds (28 mph while pedaling) but never really go that fast. Yes E-bike safety should be addressed for younger riders but don't punish the slower class 1 and 2 E-bike owners.

@govmurphy.bsky.social's press release, attempting to justify NJ's "E-bike Bill", further demonstrates that the sponsors
have poor understanding of existing law and are largely uninformed about the bill they just passed.

Kudos to Sen Mukherji for trying to stop it.

Candidates in #hoboken and #jerseycity who centered their campaigns on sustainable transportation performed extremely well this season, while candidates centering on motorists got absolutely walked.

Candidates who support bike lanes and prioritize transit are undeniably popular.

Fun fact: every outdoor dining space in #hoboken combined only occupies 58 parking spaces.

These 58 spots generate about $24k per month in revenue to fund city services.

Outdoor dining is also our highest performing curb use, with ~30 people interacting with each space equivalent per day.

To complicate matters even more for our UES neighbor, #Hoboken already has city-wide free buses.
She will likely reconsider the second she finds out Hoboken also has a large issue with unhoused folks and not enough shelter or resources for them and all the friction that causes there, because those are the people she is afraid of (instead of supporting things to help them...like free buses).

The densely populated city across from Manhattan is not taking a victory lap. Hoboken transportation officials know that Vision Zero success can be fleeting and vow to keep focusing on it.
