semi-regular reminder that ICE was only created in 2003

when you are asked to imagine a world without ICE, you're basically being asked to remember where you were when Lilo & Stitch came out

USPS quietly changed its postmark rules — mail is no longer dated when you drop it off. The “official” date is when it hits automated sorting — sometimes days later

Which could have major implications for mail in voting — it’s a clever way to disenfranchise voters that’s going largely overlooked

Give a man a fish and someone with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about people getting free handouts. Teach a man to fish? Yeah, that person with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about that too.

Rob Zombie's "Dragula" is a much more entertaining song if you know what the original Dragula from "The Munsters" actually looked like. I want you to tell me exactly which part of this car you would be "slamming" in, Rob.

Ah, yes, for all you young people: there was a relentless effort to manufacture a consensus that Columbine was caused by Goth culture, industrial music, and videogames.

The neo-Nazism was buried, and anyone who pointed to easy access to guns was denounced as a liberty-hating tyrant.
I remember when the Columbine massacre happened and very serious media and political figures deliberately hid the fact that the shooters were neo-Nazis and claimed that they did it because they were bullied (they weren’t) and that they wore black clothes.

Just thought I’d mention that

Back in 1946, the KKK was trying to make a major comeback after World War II.

Enter Superman — the Man of Steel exposed their secrets and took them down in his radio show.

I asked Rick Bowers, author of Superman vs the Ku Klux Klan, what we can learn from this today

I love @alexanderchee.bsky.social's Bibliomancy assignment — such a great way to encourage exploration of the library, to help students appreciate the value of curiosity and magic of serendipity. I cld see this being ⭐ for first-year composition classes.
