I'm seeing alot of "celebs spending 75K a ticket while we can't afford xyz.." talk so this bears saying: The Met Gala is a fundraiser for the Costume Institute and the celebs don't pay for tickets (or, usually, their looks). They're invited by the fashion houses or publications that buy tables.
