Absolute powerhouse of an actor. RIP
Diane Keaton, who won an Academy Award and captured hearts with her endearing performance as Woody Allen's eccentric, insecure girlfriend in the 1977 romantic comedy ‘Annie Hall,’ died at age 79, People reported on Saturday, citing a family spokesperson reut.rs/3W11pJa

Great little thread. The scale of this pollution in the west wouldn’t be seen in glaciers until the Industrial Revolution
The Roman Empire didn’t just conquer by sword and siege.
It poisoned the air.
From lead smelting in Iberia to furnace smoke in Judea, Rome reshaped the atmosphere of an entire continent.

Great article!
Wrote a blog about how racists who only like white men telly keep saying 'over-representative'. My argument: ATB only has a few Black characters and they were all real people, really there, so how can it be?

A man commented: "grossly over-representative" 🤷🏻‍♀️

Really good spooky drama, right into your ears.
Enjoying the new #Uncanny TV series? You might like my 2021 investigation, The Battersea Poltergeist. It is being re-released weekly on BBC Radio 4 and you can listen to all the episodes on BBC Sounds. It’s the series that lead to Uncanny as so many people sent me their stories after I made it!

Listerine cigarettes, c.1930. The tobacco was infused with the same antiseptic oils used in the mouthwash for a "cooling and soothing effect." Listerine cigarettes were not very popular because there is almost no record of their existence. #histmed

To the disrupters of the world: just because you can do something it doesn’t mean you should.
Why? Who is this meant to be good for? Nobody wants your shit AI books, never mind 8,000 in a year. Just a terrible idea and a horrible road the publishing industry is heading down.
