The goal of a PhD is not to learn some facts or read a few papers or learn a bunch of techniques. The goal of a PhD is to learn independence, problem solving, how to finish things you start, resilience, & gain the ability to adapt & think creatively. Learning these things is hard.

So proud to know you! And I'm equally grateful to you for your mentorship, training and support
Ten years ago, I restarted career in the Neuroscience program at Emory. I wanted the freedom drive my own research and chase what interested me. Thanks, @tamaragenes.bsky.social, Alberto Stolfi, @vansciver.bsky.social, and all the mentors for the training and support that brought me here.

We're live! @inikon.bsky.social used modular proximity labeling to identify ciliary EV cargo in #celegans. This EV-TurboID approach can be applied in cell- & tissue-specific manners to define the composition of distinct EV subtypes, a major challenge of the EV field.

Just out! We used C. elegans to trace the cargo of ciliary EVs and found that their loading is a regulated process involving polycystins. @barrlab.bsky.social communities.springernature.com/posts/tiny-m...

LOOK at how few white counties there are on this map.

Almost EVERY county in this country loses with the White House's proposed cuts to health research 🧪
Working with an interdisciplinary team, we have developed a website to communicate how the White House's proposed cuts to health research would cause losses of $16B and 68,500 jobs.

For over 40 years, we have driven research in efforts to find a cure for PKD. Now, a 57% cut to CDMRP funding threatens that progress. Urge Congress to protect this critical funding, PKD research depends on it!

The fact that Brian Lea on behalf of the DOJ argues in defense of cutting NIH funding that "Diversity of viewpoints ultimately lead to a better decision"...
BL starts with "categorical," says that proves too much.
Then ???
Third, universal injunctions are't great, should be limited to plaintiffs. SCOTUS has suggested it might get rid of universal injunctions. Diversity of viewpoints ultimately lead to a better decision.
