Senior Judge Mark L. Wolf retired today.
Among other things, his supervision of the Calderon immigration class action settlement (arrests at I130 interviews while adjustingstatus) is transferred to Judge Saris.
(This seems so good for plaintiffs that I have to wonder if it is random or not!)

Judge O'Toole orders the release of MIRIAN XIMENA ABARCA TIXE.
GAO: So what I can do and I DO GRANT THE PETITION FOR HABEAS CORPUS
Releasing her from her custody.
As to the status that's she's in as to any other matter, including transportation out of this country, that's not something I can do.
SO ORDERED.

Oh, miscellaneous premature #cambma election reporting.
Over at 3-3 and 3-3A, City Hall, as of 4:17pm, the tabulators had read 477+517 => 994 ballots, which ÷3 is 331 voters.
That includes mail-in ballots being deposited there throughout the day.
Collectively they have 2345 voters, 1513 "active."

Just a reminder, I'll be attempting to collect realtime #cambma election results tonight. If you're available to grab photos of machine tapes after 8pm from your precinct's polling place, let me know, that'd be helpful.

Some days I really want a symbol that abbreviates "sentence" like the ¶ (pilcrow) abbreviates paragraph and the § (section sign) its eponymous division.
Why oh why have we not evolved such a thing?

I do not understand why the federal government cannot produce emails that have an unambiguous timestamp with a time-zone indicator.
This is not the first time this has been a problem.
(My preferred client shows the timezone, the timezone is in the rfc5822 Date: header for a reason.)

So far less than 1% of registered voters have voted early:
196 on Sat; 163 on Sun, for a total of 359 voters.
