So love wobbegongs. Everything is good about the wobbegong. Its name. Its flattened Oscar the Grouch face. Its frondy bits. Its lazy life as a hungry rug. And it’s a shark. Outstanding animal 10/10
The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.

My @uncannymagazine.bsky.social novelette formatted as a series of Goodreads reviews is here! It also features probably the longest title in history 😆

It's a story about friendship, queerness, books, fandom, and generally living life and finding ways forward even when things aren't looking great.

If you're using AI to write essays, eulogies, a text to your wife, I do think less of you as a person. Ceding your mental and creative abilities to a machine is an embarrassing thing and people should be ashamed to admit doing it in public.

Without getting into the AI angle, I think dead people should be allowed to remain dead. You don't need to commodify everything. You don't get to claim something that belonged to a real person simply because he's not around to assert his likeness rights. We have film. We have memories. It's enough.
