we need to be realistic about the latitude scotland is on and just post every household a SAD lamp and several months supply of vitamin d

imagine a scotland without pervasive, near-universal seasonal affective disorder
November 18, 2025 at 11:04 AM
scrolling is therapeutic if you do it sitting in front of a SAD lamp right

the main thing that would solve 99% of the visible issues low information voters have with asylum would be giving them the right to work btw

one of the nicest things about getting off this accursed isle every once in a while is remembering how few places in europe do barriers at all

love to veer wildly between government freaking out that millennials and genz have no retirement savings and deciding £200 a month in pension contributions is a wild extravagance

my review of now having second hand experienced a chunk of the metal gear series is that it's completely ridiculous and not in a fun way

Humza Yousaf also belongs in this category, despite attempts by (hetero) Labour members to paint him as homophobic
If you asked me to come up with the names of politicians who are publicly and unapologetically pro-LGBT and pro-trans rights in particular, two of the most obvious would now both be Muslim mayors of major cities. And both are routinely smeared as regards to 'Sharia Law'.

Last week I shared this, talking about how Glasgow was being given less funding in the UK government's new Pride of Place fund than our equivalent cities in England. Now it transpires that not are we being short-changed, but this isn't even new money.(1/2)
I don't usually upload Full Council videos but why not, I suppose. Labour today were even more of a shambles than they usually are.

they call it jury nullification and you’re hearing it more and more. people say you can’t, you can’t nullify, but juries say, stop us. it’s incredible really. can you believe it? jury nullification.

this is genuinely disgraceful
I'm not sharing the link directly because, obviously, the SWP can do one, but That Lot From Glasgow have given a direct interview to their newspaper! Genuinely shameful stuff. They absolutely will be chumming with Tommy Sheridan ere long.

I know people bristle at such comparisons but the term "Trumpian" does seem apt: having seen their prospects of winning an election drop, the Top Tier Government decides to cynically deploy its institutional heft in a fundamentally inappropriate manner against partisan foes in Lower Tier Governments
Senior UK government figures like Healey, Alexander, and now Lammy claiming that the SNP are a national security threat isn't just infantile, it's dangerously delegitimising a democratically elected government, and is the first step in securitising the issue of Scottish self-determination.

has it occured to all the people complaining about the pavement parking ban in glasgow making the streets too narrow that they could simply not have cars while living in the city

fwiw i actually think grainger was decided wrongly even on its own merits? surely belief in climate change (as opposed to a philosophical belief in eg the inherent moral value of nature) doesn't meet the threshold of not being merely a 'viewpoint based on the present state of information available'

reasons despite everything i'm proud to be a member of the snp:
75 years ago, the ECHR was signed after the horrors of the war.

Today, Nigel Farage and many Westminster politicians want to tear up the laws that protect our basic human rights.

Our rights are not Westminster’s to take away. We will stand firmly against that.
