there's kind of this weird thing where companies like coreweave are creating something not unlike CDOs but based on their (rapidly depreciating) GPU assets as well

yeah like i was up that way for the first time in a while (given i used to live near there until 18 months ago) recently and was actually surprised by the number of new things that have opened

99% of the problems are, as you say, down to the gsa's startling incompetence

most of the section that isn't pedestrianised is like the leafy bit around kelvingrove though so the whole thing is a bit silly

i funnily enough did live in glasgow briefly in that era and while sauchiehall street certainly was *busy* at the time it was also basically littered with the bodies of passed-out drunks and pools of vomit so, not exactly the world famous pride of anything

add this to another one of those things whiny brits who keep going on about wanting to move to canada will never, ever learn from canada

I just think it's so funny/sweet he didn't take it off when the character isn't married!

also this might be obvious but if you can stomach nsaids (particularly ibuprofen or especially naproxen) it's worth taking them - you're not just managing the pain but actually reducing some of the inflammation thats causing it in the first place

if you're a toe-walker (I am) the foot pain is probably being caused by your calves being tight and pulling on it essentially
November 15, 2025 at 5:58 PM
things that worked in the long term: an incredible amount of calf stretching, like just whenever you're standing around not doing anything do some calf stretches. I found the ones where you stand on the edge of a stair on your toes and let your heels sink down really good.

ok so i never bothered staying off it and found that counterproductive since it just weakens your foot anyway

things that worked for me for immediate relief: sitting and rolling my foot on a frozen water bottle, or rolling it on a tennis ball

if you do happen to want some advice that isn't 'stay off of it' from a sometimes plantar fascitis sufferer i can offer it

its almost like raising income tax and using that to pay for nice universal things actually is pretty popular, maybe they could try that down south?

Philips WiZ! they're LED bulbs you can control from your phone. I've put them in both lamps in the living room and so they're cool/daylight white during the day and fade down to warmer tones in the evening (and are dimmable). they barely cost more than normal LEDs as well!

the entire uk getting a do-over from 2015 would solve so many problems
