"Rendition".

Like in fucking V For Vendetta.
Can we stop calling these atrocities "deportations." These people sold to El Salvadorian prisons were not deported. Deportation is a process that did not take place. They were rounded up and removed with no process. They were kidnapped, not deported.

Some key takeaways 🧵(do read the full statement!)
- govt has taken over direct operational control of HC
- if premier/MoH tells any HC leader to do something they CANNOT say no - consequence of doing so is loss of their job and livelihood (& maybe even a permanent ban from AB!)

That’s an intimate web that Danielle Smith and two of her ministers have allegedly woven.

Big promises. Paybacks. Votes.

No amount of letter writing has persuaded my lawmakers, but one thing has slowed them down:

Showing up in numbers that can’t be hidden or explained away. Marching in the streets. Testifying by the hundreds. Letting lawmakers know we see them and we know.

Easy to lose this in the noise of the day, but the prime minister of Canada just said the US president, leader of the global hegemon, wants to soften us up economically so he can annex us.

That is one of the most remarkable statements, and realities, in our history.

Budgets are about priorities.

Under the UCP, funding for public education and universities remains frozen, resulting in 'cuts by inflation.'

Funding for private schools has increased above inflation.

In a real way, this means money is flowing from public to private schools.

Priorities.

It is every citizen and resident’s responsibility to be interested in matters of government, actually
I have to be honest, I think this comment by the judge, ranks right up there with the “dumbest shit I’ve read today”. 🤦‍♀️
