Trump’s repeated insistence that he is “not a racist” functions as a rhetorical shield. It resonates rhetorically but cannot wipe away decades of documented behavior, public statements, and the lived experiences of those harmed by policy and symbolism.
Provoke and Deny: The Obama Cartoon and Decades of Racialized Governance
The racist imagery that briefly appeared on the official feed is not a rogue error. It is consistent with an administration that has repeatedly deflected harm while avoiding responsibility.

Spicy take, but the 20% of the people who don't make it back to a stable life still deserve to have their basic needs met.
“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back to a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

IT SAVES PUBLIC MONEY to house people.
Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need - scoop.me

It really is worth understanding what an escalation this is by the feds to be teargassing the big family friendly march
Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

Reminder that, in recent days, children have rallied and protested for their freedom inside an ICE detention center where water has been described as "putrid" and meals reportedly contain “bugs,” dirt, and debris. This is where the kidnapped 5-year-old Liam Ramos is being held.

This man's name is Matthew James Obadiah Allen. After being tackled and restrained by ICE *while he was walking away* he was loaded into the back of a white unmarked pickup truck, which drove off.

Where is he now? Has he been let go? Is he still detained?
Here is one of the protestors...an American citizen...taken away yesterday morning after being tackled...*while walking away*...and hauled into the back of an unmarked pickup.

Has he been arrested? Detained? Released?

We are all drowning in a pool of systemic propaganda so I understand why the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti feel esp shocking and I think it is important to do the internal work of asking yourself, if this applies to you, why the deaths of immigrants/Black folks don't shock in the same way
