I mean, I guess it's good if it turns out he's *not* announcing a war, but it still feels very bad that he can just request free air time to campaign to millions of Americans for free and every single network immediately bends the knee without question.

This what it’s always been about for the colonizers. Trump is being very honest about US foreign policy here.

The US cannot accept other countries nationalizing their strategic assets and cutting US companies out, so they use sanctions, regime change, and even direct invasions as punishment.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

If I had known the two paragraphs about genAI in my article today would be so controversial, I would have expanded them a bit! Here's a rough transcript of the relevant portion of my interview with Swen Vincke, so everyone has all the context. (Full article here: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...)

Rob Reiner was a good guy. He made a lot of movies about good guys, in worlds where not everyone was good and you didn’t have to be good. He made movies about people trying. He was angry, as many hopeful people are. He knew the world could be better and he wanted it to be. His death is devastating.

Rob Reiner made some great movies but he was also unafraid to speak the truth, and was one of the public voices who knew you don’t squander your platform, and only got louder about opposing evil fucks as he got older. Legend.

Rob Reiner was one of the key people behind the effort to go to court to overturn California's anti-marriage equality Proposition 8 when it passed in 2008.

Working with Chad Griffin, they founded the American Foundation for Equal Rights and got Ted Olson and David Boies to team up to fight Prop 8.

He's also responsible for raising all the money that paid for bringing Hollingsworth v. Perry & even more importantly Bostic v. Schaefer, which created the circuit split that forced SCOTUS to take on Obergefell v. Hodges. The role he played in American marriage equality cannot be overstated.
The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

Say what you will about The Game Awards, but I still have the theme stuck in my head the next day, and that's honestly more than I can say for most movies or games nowadays.

Attention NYC: We made it past the earliest sunset of the year.

No, it's not on the solstice. That's the shortest day, but the earliest sunset is sooner and the latest sunrise is later.

So those of us who, like me, are primarily offended by early sunsets have officially survived rock bottom.
