Caught lobbying for cash or bullying in Parliament? You can still return to the House of Lords - for life.
No real consequences. No accountability.

Ban rule-breaking peers from the House of Lords.
Lords found guilty of serious misconduct – like bullying or lobbying for cash – still get to make our laws. I just signed a petition to kick rule-breaking peers out of the Lords for good. Want to add...

To all journalists. What have you uncovered since this article in September? I don't recall same outrage directed at Farage as it was at Angela Rayner by the misogynist, right wing and billionaire media owners. Why is that?

But that’s one reason why Farage & his ilk hate the BBC, because it ‘belongs’ to the people & is funded by a licence fee. How anti-capitalist! Advertising can’t make money from it, & it’s not answerable to the usual demands capitalists. ‘Kill it & raise something we can make money from’ they say!
The BBC is ours. It's ours to love. Ours to criticise. Ours to shout at when we feel in the mood.

And if Farage thinks that the way to win favour with voters is to stand around cheering as Trump takes down the BBC for $1 billion of personal enrichment then he's a bigger fool than anyone thought.

Starmer should have given #RobbieGibb the boot a year ago.
Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Any comment from #ReformUK ?

Has Farage called for them to be deported yet?

Any mass protests outside Kent police stations / courts threatening to set the buildings on fire?

Or is it only black people that get that treatment?

#ukpolitics How many promises in their manifesto did the Tories fail to deliver? Loads! They didn't build 20 new hospitals or HS2 as a starter. But I don't remember media going at the Tories about what they didn't deliver from their manifesto. Things have changed in the world so tax rises are right.

I keep seeing/hearing versions of the claim that immigration is now in the top three issues for Scots (that specifically from The Scotsman's politics podcast).

The most recent Scottish issue polling was done in the summer, by Ipsos, and immigration wasn't in the top ten.

Where is this coming from?

The UK economy is a mess - but those who voted for the Tory's austerity programme in 2010 or 2015, or Brexit in 2016, contributed directly to that mess, so, rather than screaming about Rachel Reeves or Keir Starmer and
@UKLabour they should be hanging their heads in shame.

Turns out calling an MP out for their racism is actually *worse* than the racism itself!

UK parliament dwells in another dimension
I called out a Reform MP’s racist comments in Parliament today.

I withdrew calling her a racist for her racist comments. But let’s be clear - racism has no place in Parliament or our politics.

Bet she never mentioned Brexit!
How can you criticise the damage Farage will do to the country without criticising the damage he has already inflicted on us?

One of the easiest ways to tackle Farage and Reform, is to showcase the absolute disaster Brexit was and was always going to be. That Labour still seem petrified to even mention the word is beyond me.
Burnham at fringe #Lab25 event: "Look at the last decade we've had. Shouldn't we start calling out the disaster that #Brexit has been, more directly? They are the people who took us down this path. That's their doing. And we've got to absolutely hold them accountable for that." ~AA

I still hold grudges against Davey for 2010-2015, but he really is leading the Lib Dems to be the only party that is making a stance for decency in politics.

And it is a strong attractor for me.

I have strong views on many things, but at heart I want my political party to have a heart of decency.
Ed Davey: “I worry that the populism we’re hearing from all types, whether it’s former Liberal Democrat Mr Polanski, whether it’s the SNP, or whether it’s Nigel Farage, it seems to be they want to divide people. They want to blame people. And I don’t think that’s a way you build a strong society.”

Farage is the biggest threat our NHS has ever faced.

He wants to replace it with a US-style insurance system.

Most bankruptcies in the US are for unpaid medical bills – of people WITH medical insurance.

What happens to those without medical insurance?

You don't want to know.
A national poll shows Brits still strongly support the founding principles of the NHS as Reform UK threatens to replace our current healthcare system with an insurance model.

At what point do Labour MPs decide to rescue their party - and their seats - by evicting Starmer and Reeves? When voting intention figures fall to 19%?
15%?
10%?
(Last week they stood at 21%, and have prob fallen since)
The longer they leave it, the harder and less plausible the recovery will be.
