I don’t want to be angry anymore. I want to talk about ideas, old footballers, bands I loved and bands I could grow to love.
I don’t want to be hated, but I’m happy to be proved wrong.
I want to find optimism.
And yes, amongst all of this I’m happy to look at dog videos.

"Pete Hegseth wants to send the message to every single retired servicemember that if they say something he or Donald Trump doesn't like, they will come after them the same way. It's outrageous and it is wrong. There is nothing more un-American than that," Kelly added.

Listening to Labour Spokespeople suggesting that they can't condemn the US invasion of Venezuela because they believe that the 'special relationship' can temper Trump's ambition, is a bit like a kindly vicar saying that they can stop a crack addict from taking drugs through the power of prayer.

@zackpolanski.bsky.social is absolutely right.
People can expect two things from their politicians: first, is to uphold the rule of law; second is to preserve democracy. That Labour and the Tories are unwilling to condemn the US for a fundamental breach of one of these principles is terrifying.
On BBC News today: striking that it’s the two old establishment parties - Labour and the Conservatives - refusing to condemn the US breaking international law and doing what it wants.

Feels like politics stuck in the past, while the public has clearly moved on.

One of the people the USA killed in Venezuela was Rosa Gonzalez, 80 who they blew up in her apartment.

Will you hear this on the European News?

I doubt it.

When peaceful protest is a crime, democracy is in deep trouble.

Why the fuck are BBC Today Programme giving air time to a Donald Trump apologist - 5 previous minutes listening to Chris Ruddy (who?) tell the nation how amazing Trump is… tell that to Venezuelans, Greenlanders and the poor bastards terrorised by ICE. Cowards!

Given the context of these photos and the fact that the man is the most powerful in the world, it is surely incumbent upon him to explain who the girl is and how he came to be photographed with her.
Sadly, as the man in the photograph is a dishonest narcissist, then that's not likely to happen.
found an incriminating picture of Bill Clinton.
Oh. Wrong picture- my bad

I can't lie: @zackpolanski.bsky.social is talking to me like no one else at the moment. Not because I'm young, naive, woke, or liberal, but because I see hope in him and a desire to at least try to create a world where love, empathy and understanding is more important than wealth, power and hate.

Nigel Farage said that the 'Raise the Colours' campaign was a "grassroots movement driven by ordinary people”.

Kemi Badenoch said they should be "welcomed" as a symbol of "unity"

Now the campaign has pivoted to racially abusing migrants and intimidating charity workers on the beaches of France

Well, that's it, my X account de-activated. It's over between me and that toxic MuskMouthpiece - and yes, it wasn't me, it was definitely you.
I'm now willing to commit exclusively to the (seemingly) good people on here.
It feels good.
Happy Thursday - whoever you are, whatever you are.

Made the mistake of going on X - I couldn't believe that posts openly espousing theories of white racial purity and Christian superiority are now being spread with pretty much no push-back.
What do we do? Fight it? Try to engage, or just retire to the safety of people we know have empathy?
