The High Court has confirmed that an injunction is an inappropriate means of planning enforcement against asylum hotels because it is a remedy of last resort, reserved for breaches where normal procedures would be ineffective.

We are so far through the looking glass that the man who tried to overthrow an election becomes president, the people who attacked the Capitol are turned into martyrs, & it's the BBC that gets punished - cheered on by the worst news outlets in the UK & the two most dishonest politicians of our age.
It’s not at all clear to me how the BBC can do any kind of serious journalism if its top two bosses can be forced to quit over such an obviously confected scandal. There is no substantive error here. How can the BBC report on Trump, or Farage, or anyone else, in these circumstances?

Baroness Mone lied she had no connection to a PPE supplier. Her lawyers threatened the Guardian.

The lawyers just tried to use the courts to block a Scottish Legal Complaints Commission investigation of their actions.

They failed. Investigation continues.

"A series of protests, usually/most often few dozen people, but sometimes a fee hundred, and on one or two occasion as large as X [eg: fifteen hundred/two thousand]" would be an accurate generalisation in the form given in this BBC report's attempt to contextualise, but getting its estimates wrong
BBC among media misreportimg/exaggerating scale of asylum protests

Median protest is a few dozen, below 100.

"Usually Several hundred at a time" is false.
- should say *occasionally*
< 1/10 protests have 200 people

"Sometimes thousands"
I dont think a single 2025 protest had > 2000 people yet

About a sixth of the public endorse very extreme views on making legal/settled migrants leave & then follow up on the specifics. (This overlaps with the 8% who say they support violence in protests & liked the riots, so it should be challenged, not indulged)

There's been a lot of focus on young men + the right but less on this much bigger political shift amongst young women.

Why is it happening? How could it change politics?

So many questions left unanswered in the Shapps interview

1) No satisfactory answer on ISC involvement. It wasn't the courts who decided, it was ministers. Hundreds of officials were across Whitehall were aware of the leak. This would have been Parliament's only means of scrutiny.

Quite. The right is always setting the ability to speak English well as a test of integration and these children pass with flying colours.
If you read down this Mail article long enough, you get to this grudging admission:

"76% of pupils at Kobi Nazrul are meeting 'expected standards' in reading, writing and maths.

That compares with a local average of 71 per cent and an average of 61 per cent in England."

Have written about Starmer's speech- his best moment yet as PM. He implicitly identified what sits at the heart of this story: the emergence of a common UK/US online right, headed by the radicalised Musk.

It is making extremist, until recently fringe politics mainstream in British conservatism.
