A confident performance from Reeves. Gambling and property taxes, end of two-child benefits cap, mineworkers’ fund reforms, national minimum wage up etc. This should take the heat out of the fractious relationship between the government and (some) backbenchers.

I’ve seen a number of people talking about a lack of belief or fight in the team at the mo, understandably given all that’s happened to them.
