I'm not a big fan of dystopian fic (real life is scary enough) but Blue Ticket by Sophie Mackintosh is one of those novels that really stays with you. Currently 99p for Kindle. amzn.to/3JTrZ4m

I've had viral conjunctivitis (thankfully only in one eye) for nearly a week now and it's so unpleasant and irritating that actually, yes, I would wish it on the top ten of my worst enemies.

I thought I was going to write about the Cecil Beaton exhibition but I ended up with a polemic on the British class system. Don't you hate it when that happens? open.substack.com/pub/sarraman...

"The flat may appeal to an artist or student of the arts, as visiting the apartment is an akin to walking into a living museum or onto a set design." I don't know many art students who could afford it! www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/1...

Lit a fancy scented candle from my stash, a big vat of ragu/bolognese simmering on the hob and listening to the new Lily Allen album. Couldn't be happier. (Though, tbf, the new Lily Allen album is slightly harshing my mellow. Poor Lily.)

I see Foyle's War is coming to Netflix. One of the obscure ITV channels repeated it from the beginning during 2020. Each episode is feature film length and I would watch one every Sunday evening and it was a delightful small pleasure that helped me through the pandemic.

I’ve had an iPhone for however long you can have iPhones for. This weekend I finally worked out how to delete emails instead of them being automatically archived instead. A design “fault” that used to send me batty.
