Living with Long COVID often feels like living in a horror movie. Along with your disease comes a creepy Hive Mind refusal to acknowledge the dangers of COVID infection. In Vince Gilligan's new Apple TV show Pluribus, the Hive Mind comes to life:

"Pluribus" captures the isolation of COVID-awareness in a COVID denialist world
For years I've described having Long COVID as living in a horror movie. Now that horror movie (well, prestige Apple TV show) is here.

A bunch of us field leads were coming from our final shifts and waiting to get in and I was like “No spoilers, please!” I didn’t want to hear it from some random person outside among a few, I wanted to hear it inside the victory party with everybody! Grateful I got to experience that.

Maybe Don’t Talk to the New York Times About Zohran Mamdani
It’s remarkable, the people you’ll hear from. Teach for even a little while at an expensive institution—the term they tend to prefer is “elite”—and odds are that eventually someone who was a studen…

Guaranteed continuous employment for 4 years.

This news comes as Cori Bush challenges AIPAC-backed Wesley Bell in the 1st congressional district of Missouri, which includes St. Louis
NEW: St. Louis, MO has just passed a resolution to divest from corporations complicit in human rights abuses (including occupation, apartheid, genocide, or racism) within the city and abroad.

Becomes the biggest city in the US to pass such a resolution, according to organizers.

I am once again saying we should plan for this
So when Astoria’s own @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social goes to work next year on the first day of his new job we’re gonna have a ferry send-off / welcoming party right?

For me anyway, moving here in September 2022 (lifelong dream) & choosing Astoria, my metric for

“You’re a real New Yorker when…”

… is: you give 100+ hours of your free time to ELECT THE NEXT MAYOR, who is going to materially improve the lives of the multiracial, multigenerational working class!

The early line was so long at the main Astoria election results watch / victory party, around the corner, that there was concern of it becoming electioneering at the poll site on the adjoining street, so us canvassers had to be welcoming to celebrants but also strict about still needing to canvass

One immensely satisfying thing about today is that Elon Musk can crash out, Donald Trump can be pissed off, Michael Bloomberg can burn another $5 million dollars, and none of that will stop Zohran from becoming the next mayor of New York City.

The Zohran Field Leads community on WhatsApp has a chat for Volunteer Event Photos. Seeing hundreds of folks for each shift during Early Voting & today’s 6am crew 🫡, all smiling faces & bright colors, well, as @olufemiotaiwo.bsky.social says, “I do not regret to inform you that we are going to win”!

I know, “I ain’t reading all that…” but this is me reflecting on the eve of an historic election, which is also 3 years *to the day* that I met @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social, about 6 weeks after I realized my lifelong dream of living in NYC. In short, I want my @socialists.nyc comrade to be our mayor!

Out After Dark With Late-Night Workers and Zohran Mamdani
New York City socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani recently spent the night reaching out to workers in Queens who keep the city moving after most New Yorkers are asleep. We tagged along.
