I’m going to be blunt. I read the Wurman/Barnett op-ed again. It’s hackery by amateur historians who misstate the legal history and twist their own argument, seemingly unable to decide whether text, intent, or original meaning is what matters. It’s not scholarly. And they should be ashamed of it.

Fantastic news! A veterans committee finally undid two grave injustices by electing Dick Allen and Dave Parker to the Hall of Fame @baseballhall.bsky.social. Both men dominated their eras … but Allen, in particular, was a victim of racism in the league and the press.

One could argue that some climate change impacts have saturated the news (I wouldn't, but one could) -- heat waves, stronger hurricanes, wildfire, etc -- but I just don't think it has rippled out just how bad the situation is in Greenland and West Antarctica, and what that truly means for the world.

The difference is that the media thinks of Clinton as a person who should know better. They think of Trump as a fascinating monster. This has the odd effect of making Clinton's very human expression of exasperation seem monstrous, while humanizing Trump's monstrosity.

I deeply and sincerely hope that the reports that the IDF is going to give more time for people to move out of Northern Gaza is true, and I very sincerely pray they pause operations and craft a more judicious and careful response before they do this terrible thing that everyone expects them to do

I have watched the Dodgers make the playoffs 13 out of the last 16 years. In all but one of those years they have done the same thing over and over: forget how to hit with runners on base. Being a fan of this team is just exhausting.
