"Blooming Cherry" captures a cherry tree I saw this spring in the Willamette Valley. When you look at this piece, it gives you the sensation of looking up among branches during peak bloom. The painting measures 48x70 in and was part of my Colossal Collection.

“Obstructing the view“ of what, the pavement? 🤡 How many NIMBYs are just misanthropes who don’t want to admit it.

I’ve only watched a handful of these speeches, but it’s been inspiring to see so many people from all different walks of life taking the time to wait in line and speak.
106: calls it the peoples filibuster. Nothing to do with community care. Lays out stats of how many billionaires and centinillionaires. I never wabt to go to Chip Wilson beach or Pattinson gardens. This is a colonial firewall. This is economic small talk. This will hamper future councils.

Jane Goodall came to our school when I was a kid. That whole week beforehand, all the teachers and faculty were freaking out and repeatedly telling us we had to be on our BEST behavior. This wasn’t some assembly about the importance of recycling, this was THE JANE GOODALL, who none of us knew.

Rebecca Bligh voted to slash wages for workers, to block rental housing in wealthy neighbourhoods, and to oppose common sense tools to properly fund our schools.

We need a progressive mayor on the ballot to deliver the change Vancouver needs. And we’ll get one. More soon.
Vancouver councillor Rebecca Bligh makes official she will run for mayor next year under a new banner of “Vote Vancouver”.

Bligh was first elected in 2018 with the NPA, left them, joined Sim’s ABC Party and was re-elected, before she was booted from ABC, mostly on divisions over social issues.
