Let's start here in San Diego with @mystgalaxybooks.bsky.social
Like the name says, they're a sci-fi/ mystery/ fantasy/ horror shop with a fantastic selection and a wonderful staff. They also get SO many visiting authors so they have lots of signed books (and they ship pretty much anywhere)

A lot of folks in Los Angeles know about The Last Bookstore's downtown location, but they also have a Studio City shop that's a little cozier while staying just as photogenic and atmospheric. It's got the same mix of new and used books plus back issue comics!

Borderlands Books in San Francisco is in a sort of temporary between-space on Haight right now but you'd never be able to tell. It's a beautiful shop with an amazing selection and it's just made to browse in. Nice people, good neighborhood, an easy stroll from the Muni. Go see them now!

Eureka Books in Eureka CA is a little out of the way, but if you're in the area you have to stop by. It's an absolutely GORGEOUS Victorian-style, two-story shop that also happens to have an amazing selection. Plus, they're big supporters of local authors, and even the occasional non-local author 🙂

Parallel Worlds is a sci-fi/ fantasy/horror shop in the northern part of Portland OR. They're relatively new-ish, but I think we'll be hearing more and more about them. New and used books, floor to ceiling shelves, great staff, and lots of nearby restaurants if you want to make it an afternoon out.

Doodles for Hong Kong 🇭🇰

In response to the tragic Tai Po fire, I'm doing charity commissions. Anyone who puts over £25/250HKD into "Feeding Hong Kong" or Hong Kong SPCA can request a coloured doodle of any prehistoric animal 🙏

The World’s Goodest Boy(👇) was half Pyr, and I cannot recommend the breed/mixes enough. Friendly, lazy, easy-going nature and usually great with kids (as well as other animals). If you have room in your heart and your yard - take a chance on one of these good boys/girls. You won’t find a better dog.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
