Honestly, seeing Senate Dems show their true colors tells me that these are the folks who would NEVER fight to get justice for what the GOP (ICE, Tr*mp) are doing to us now. They would Merrick Garland the post-Tr*mp era and gaslight us w/ "the GOP were misguided. Let's move on with unity!"
If you want to understand the fools establishment Dems take us for, and you want your blood pressure to hit the roof, read this absolute gaslighting from one of the "no" senators.

Senate Dems have one path to begin rebuilding trust: remove Schumer.

This thread is insulting @whitehouse.senate.gov
Many feel betrayal and frustration, and the feelings are hot right now.

I get it. I have my own feelings.

Dark money. Corporate profit. AIPAC. Corruption. When the GOP were fed "drain the swamp" by Tr*mp...it wasn't off the mark, it's just that MAGA forgot that the GOP in govt are also the swamp. Just enough truth to seduce voters.

We will never have representation while $$$ controls our electeds.
It is the abject hypocrisy we're all exhausted by. He made $1 million in stock trades in one month and takes money from Netanyahu/AIPAC. www.nasdaq.com/articles/net...

The shutdown deal includes a ban on hemp products that none of its negotiators debated in public.

Disappointing that only 24 senators voted against killing an amendment to strike that ban.

@lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com Not buying it, Lawrence. We didn't march in the street. Organize and donate. Stuff envelopes and make calls. Face down armed soldiers. We didn't do any of that to have our team cave.

IT IS A LOSS. They squandered the greatest amount of political capital since Obama.

Update: this is no longer included in the final funding deal. I'm going to keep fighting to lower premiums and ensure Republicans can’t get away with a backdoor national abortion ban.
Senate update: Republicans are now trying to sneak a backdoor national abortion ban into their government funding bill. Republicans will stop at nothing to control women's health care decisions.

I like you Senator. But you are missing the point. These 8 Dems plus Schumer have destroyed the party’s credibility with its base. That has to be restored, and the only way to do that is to get rid of Schumer and disavow what the 8 have done. Saying you have feelings and want unity is not enough.

Not next year. Not after the midterms. Not after Thanksgiving.

Go find 22 of your colleagues willing to join you and call a conference tonight. Tomorrow at breakfast, if they’re already out to dinner tonight.

This isn’t blowing over, Senator. The people have had it. Make a change.

I legitimately can't remember a time I've been this angry for this long in my entire life

I completely zoned out in the meeting I was supposed to lead today in a fuge state

At this point. Fuck it. If I get fired I'll just primary my senators or campaign for anyone better who does. I have enough $

Anger and hot don't even begin to describe the temperature and mood right now. When will Democrats learn, Trump won't be around forever. The special elections and midterms you use to gain seats, those wins go away when he does. Your party leadership has shown nothing but weakness. I won't forget.

I am tired of fighting for democratic leaders that don’t fight, have no back bone and won’t lead! I am tired of being told to fight and having a huge win and tons of sacrifice, money and effort tossed in the trash. I worked 20 hours in a food bank this weekend so that leaded could fight! RESIGN!

Save it. I'm tired of people telling me to calm down while each and every thing we have is being stripped away. 8 senators ACTUALLY believe Trump is going to keep a promise. Seriously, where have they been for the last 10 years? You can't negotiate with a bully, ask Ukraine.

My feelings are that the leadership of the Democratic Party and especially @democrats.senate.gov have completely failed us.

Until this changes, how can you expect your voters to turn out to support the party time and time again while getting nothing back and being treated as an afterthought?

I appreciate you taking the time to post this thread, but I hope you appreciate that the only way to regain the trust of many who feel betrayed, myself included, is for Schumer and Durbin to step down from leadership immediately. The situation is untenable and must be addressed before the next vote

You actually don't get it, though because you are defending Chuck Schumer. You are gaslighting the People and calling for "unity" when Dems betrayed our trust and the party.

I don’t think you understand how catastrophic this is. We worked our asses off for the victory last Tuesday, only to have elected Democrats abandon the ACA five days later.

Dooming millions to life with no health care.

How do you build unity after that?

This hidden provision is so crooked and selfish, it doesn't even apply to US Representatives. Just US Senators.
Look at this new outrage. To open govt, we're retroactively letting 8 Senators sue for $500K each over having had their J6 phone toll records looked at. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/10/u...
