Challenge: you are stranded on a desert island and you can only watch movies about a single kind of animal for the rest of your life (so if you choose "pig", you can only watch the Babe movies, Charlotte's Web, Gordy, Nic Cage's "Pig", etc).

the takeaway from the Zohran Trump meeting is that Trump is a gullible fool who will temporarily bend to the last charismatic person he talked to.

Zohran played him perfectly but that doesn’t mean Trump is good now. He’ll go back to fascism tomorrow morning after he talks to Stephen Miller

You are conducting a performance review of Gregg Pendleton, your direct report. The other party is the GenAI-powered software trying to replace you. Also, Gregg died last week.

If you got 5 minutes, I'd love for you to play my free twine game about grief: For Gregg.

I mean, I was suggesting that lawless violence is morally justified against a government that employs lawless violence as a matter of policy, but this is ok too.
To paraphrase @kenwhite.bsky.social, if an institution refuses to be bound by norms, then they should no longer expect the protection of norms (in this case, from public criticism).

No post-Trump settlement can accept his regime as having been legitimate. Either because we have a republic again, or a new autocrat, or whatever else, but it isn’t possible to have a system that treats his actions as valid precedent after he’s gone. A personalist regime can’t survive the person.
The CEO of a a multi-trillion dollar company went to the White House, openly handed the US president a gift made of gold, and his company got a special exemption to tariffs the president has illegally imposed.

Also, the Founders took bribery so seriously the Constitution bans it 3 separate times.

There is absolutely no excuse for any Democrat asked about trans athletes to ever respond with anything but “why are you wasting my time asking about FEWER THAN FIFTEEN CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY WHO WANT TO PLAY GAMES WITH THEIR FRIENDS. What is wrong with you?”

Cleaning out Dad's place this weekend, I found a box with 30 years worth of used, illegible day planners. For how much he struggled with organizing important things, I was stunned that he managed to come up with a system for old calendars and stick to it for 30 years.

This shit is why we're skipping disability pride month and going straight to disability wrath.

Still struggling with the idea that the President authorized a country, with which we were engaged in armed conflict, to attack a US base with US soldiers in harm's way ("gunners") and it isn't a bigger story. This goes beyond even impeachment and removal from office.

One of the NYT's anti-trans articles fearmongers about children as young as 8 being given puberty blockers — but that is the primary purpose of puberty blockers! They're given to cis kids when they enter puberty too young.

The NYT was cited in the Supreme Court ruling used to strip trans people of healthcare. This is EXACTLY WHY the “just asking questions” crowd of centrist edgelord journalists are dangerous. They launder transphobia through faux neutral “debate” and act like it’s intellectual curiosity

Have you fucking SJWs considered that if literally everything was different about this parade it would be cool
“In today’s climate, a military parade could offer an opportunity to counter misperceptions about the armed forces. It could bring Americans closer to service members and juice military recruitment—all of which is sorely needed,” @kschake.bsky.social writes:
Sometimes a Parade Is Just a Parade
Not everything the Trump administration does is a threat to democracy.
