My childhood and early adult Christmases were... a lot. Clark Griswold looks like the Grinch compared to the Christmases my father expected.

A high school friend came over at the beginning of December one year, just as we were finishing decorating and she looked like she was worried she'd...

As many of us begin Christmas meal prep, allow me to share the advice that my ER nurse sister puts in the chat every year:

A dropped knife has no handle. Jump away. Let it fall. You can pick it up and wash it.

I'm to the point (and age) where I'm like, "Is this a new symptom or an old one I forgot about??"
I've got 99 symptoms and, for fuck’s sake, here comes another one. And another. And another.

Tonight: We can't actually fulfill your order. Our bad.

Me: That took you four days to figure out? 😠

The Cracker Barrel thing was THIS YEAR. We have three more years of this shit. Anybody who makes it to 2028 without looking like Nosferatu will be required by the state to start a skincare brand.

This festive #MineralMonday is brought to you by Kinoite and Apophyllite. This sample is from the Christmas Mine in Gila Co., Arizona. A fitting specimen for the holiday season!

Since we're not doing Christmas until NYD and it's getting to the point in the season where I feel like no tip is large enough to justify sending a Shipt shopper out, I'm done shopping until the 26th.

I should really start wrapping, though...

My cat pets me when she wants to be petted, and usually i respond by petting her right away. TODAY i didn't, just let her keep petting me, and i gotta say, this is awesome, no wonder they like it

I’ve spent the last 28 years of my life watching bad movies on purpose, and AI has given me an entirely new appreciation for them. Multiple people cared enough about this stupid piece of shit to spend months making it, and that’s beautiful.
Saw lots of bad (new) paintings in gift shops today and I find myself loving them much more because the people who made them haven't just given up and become "AI artists." Being not-great at something so you can (hopefully) get better is the entire point.
I'm very tolerant of bad aesthetics - I actually frequently LOVE bad art when it comes from real human beings! But when it's churned out by a fucking machine? It has zero meaning and zero value and actually degrades the reputation and message of the person throwing it at us.

The very question “Has Feminism Been Harmful to Women” presupposes that women don’t know what is good for themselves objectively.

I don’t need a roundtable to debate and let me know what’s best for my gender, but thanks anyway.
