ODOT’s budget is fucked. They could either stop spending hundreds of millions on a doomed freeway expansion that is billions of dollars away from completion or raid the $15m a year program for sidewalks near elementary schools. Guess which Dems are choosing #orpol

Cities completely underutilize traffic calming and modal filters on local sidestreets.

not only do they make local streets safer to bike and walk along, but they also make the neighborhood look better too!

I know transit is pretty bad across North America, but most of you have no excuse to not take transit at least once a week.

At some point you have to charge drivers their fair share if you want to have a walkable city.

If a stadium is only used for 2 preseason games 9 regular season games and 2 dozen concerts it probably doesn’t belong downtown.

Good thing our cities do the smart thing and give 2 billion dollars to billionaires to build these stadiums in downtowns!

“I like your page but please don’t get political.”

I’ve had this dm and comment dozens of times.

1. Urbanism is political and at the heart of intersectionality

2. I’m not gonna say nothing when Nazi pigs are killing people in the streets.

The only things that should increase in price is parking and tolls

Wrote a video script in under a day. First time I’ve done that in a while. It felt good. Hoping to have it out next week

This is a higher cost estimate than the downtown max tunnel btw
The estimated price tag more than doubled from $6 billion to $13.6 billion, but staff told a bistate panel Dec. 15 it didn’t have new numbers.

Money for unlimited war?

Any pro regime change posts you see are likely bot accounts attempting to manufacture consent for another war.

Portland city councilor Mitch Green, a veteran, speaks at the rally, which is about to march through Portland. He says this is a local issue, because city can’t fix potholes when the U.S. instead spends money invading other countries for oil.

Nothing ruins a city faster than creating large amounts of “free” parking in it.

The best bike infrastructure I’ve ever ridden on wasn’t a bike lane or trail it was a neighborhood greenway.

The easiest way for a city to burn money is to just fling a couple billion at a billionaire to build a new stadium
