The Australien Government has made an ad about the Social Media Ban for Under-16s, and it's surprisingly honest and informative.

This is why Elon Musk’s X platform was fined by the EU. Elon refused to follow the regulations that every other platform has to adhere to in the EU. This is not a “free speech” issue.

I feel the clients now using GenAI to do stuff and going "good enough" when they used to nitpick at every last detail is due to them finding out all those nit picky changes take time and work they cant be bothered to put in.

The Fifth Element (1997): Art by Jean 'Moebius' Giraud

"Collaborating on a project with a team is a shared effort and a constant stimulation. There is a “reassuring” side to working for someone; I find it less stressful. Basically, you’re not alone."

Yup, Mead obviously, but also Berkey & Harris are worth a look if you're unfamiliar with their work ;D
Yes, Mead's influence was claimed by the Mass Effect team.

Art director Derek Watts: "We definitely had a few artists that we looked at for inspiration: Syd Mead, John Berkey and John Harris were just a few. We wanted this universe to have a more sophisticated look."
Mass Effect is 18 years old today, and I've updated this article so you can learn how the design of the SSV Normandy SR-1 was created.

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

Anime inspirations: Streets of Fire (1984)

Fusing 50s rock-and-roll aesthetics with 80s cybernoir dystopia, SoF was an influential cult hit in Japan.

One of the most direct influences can be seen in Bubblegum Crisis, with Priss' performance an homage to SoF's Ellen Aim and the Attackers.

It’s weird that news organizations like the BBC are covering this as if it’s a real thing with a real process behind it—and not clearly some nakedly invented “participation trophy” by a corrupt organization to curry favor with a corrupt and easily manipulated man-child. www.bbc.com/sport/footba...
