I agree with Klein on principle that it's bad for democracy to think of your opponents as evil but… what happens when they're actually evil? What happens when all they do is lie, cheat, steal, abuse and kill, and take your good faith as a sign of weakness? Debate your way out of it?

Venezuela has got oil. Greenland is mineral-rich and geographically useful to the US. It’s that simple.

Any pretence of the US acting in good faith to stop drug traffickers, spy ships, or intervening to protect Venezuelan citizens is a lie.

It's now unconscionable for the government to be posting on X.

X is not a neutral utility, it is far, far darker: an environment that shapes behaviour, rewards cruelty, and normalises abuse.

What is the point of having International law if there is no consequence for breaking it..?

What is the point in having a written constitution if there are no consequences for ignoring it?

The US is now a rogue state, and should be treated as such.

If Trump’s concern was drugs, he’d not have pardoned Honduras’s corrupt leader; if terrorism, he’d have gone after Iran; if world order, Russia; if preserving US power, China. If democracy, human rights or humanitarian motive, dozens of other worthy cases. What’s left is oil. And Epstein.

now, it might seem odd that political commentators who advocated for the uk to leave the eu because of their belief in “the nation state” to be supportive of america’s annexation of venezuela, but what you have to remember is that those people didn’t actually think that, they were lying for money
