A very happy, healthy and prosperous new year to one and all.

Keep the faith and be kind to one another. May 2026 be a turning point for democracy and the rule of law and may they strenghten and flourish.

This is our year to VOTE, VOTE, VOTE.

Not sure people are getting the real importance of the Russians fooling Trump about the Ukrainians attacking Putin's house. It was to demonstrate just how much they control his thinking--how much he is in their pocket. And it worked.

So many of these ICE agents are a disgrace. And they are giving bonuses for more of the same to apply for jobs?
A few months ago, ICE agents shot a TikToker. The govt then charged him, alleging he tried to ram agents

Well guess what?

Body-cam footage -- which the gov't delayed disclosing -- shows that's BS.

The agent shot by mistake.

And a judge just dismissed charges.

Those who finally responded to the journalists' inquiries all sounded like they were trying to emulate President Trump and his thuggish, non-responsive, nasty and entitled style. I hope one day they are all brought to account for their behavior.
“You are not entitled to a response from us, or anyone, ever,” is what a US Education Department spokesperson wrote to one of our reporters, @megomatz.bsky.social, after she repeatedly tried to get comment from the department and its officials. My column on the condemnation of good journalism.
Our Reporters Reached Out for Comment. They Were Accused of Stalking and Intimidation.
Our journalists reach out to people they’re writing about to ensure fairness. But in this environment, they’ve found their efforts to do so are more likely to be vilified than appreciated.

Very disturbing. They work for "us" the people of the United States. They are paid by us and yes, they are answerable to us. And the legitimate press is the vehicle to ask our questions.

America has 925 billionaires as of this year. Collectively they have a record $6.9 trillion in wealth.

The bottom 50% of Americans control $4.2 trillion in wealth.

When 925 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

In 2016, when Russia first moved to demand payback for getting Trump elected, they tested two envoys to get to Trump. First, a buddy of Jared Kushner's. Then, W/DMITRIEV SPECIFICALLY, W/Erik Prince.

Prince & Bannon then deleted texts about what went on.

The plan has literally not changed at all.
Did you know that the US hasn’t had an ambassador in Moscow in 6 months?

Or that our chief envoy to Russia won’t take briefings from the CIA?

But wait, there’s more. Much more in this 6-byline WSJ piece on the Witkoff-Putin axis.

Why would we want a felon's name on ANY federal building? Despicable.
It's so weird that the "surprise" "vote" happened yesterday but they had the external lettering, tarps, and crew all ready to go.
Breaking News: Workers began adding President Trump’s name to the Kennedy Center, despite no action by Congress to legally rename it. This sparked outrage among the Kennedy family, since it was built to be a living memorial to the 35th president.

When that time comes, Illinois will have the testimony and records needed to pursue justice to its fullest extent.

I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along
There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

This is so Trump. And so disgraceful and illegal.
The White House says the Kennedy Center board vote was “unanimous”…

BULLSHIT.

@repbeatty.bsky.social, a Congressional member of the board, was on the call. They muted her and didn't let her voice opposition.

This is beyond absurd, totally illegal, and a disgrace to the memory and legacy of JFK.
