Oh dear. Too much thinking about that while doing it would make *my* brain hemorrhage--those words in that order for that length of time...

I might be able to do it in a chipmunk voice. As a patter song. Maybe. Minimal brain damage (to myself, anyhow).
I’d just like to print out transcripts of Trump’s nonsensical answers and ask Republicans in Congress to read them aloud.

Mike Johnson said today that inflation is up.
Q: When Trump says that grocery prices are down, what numbers is he basing that on, given that's not true?

Top Trump econ advisor: It's one of those things that, very often when people talk about economics, they slip derivatives, as we say. Inflation is way down
November 10, 2025 at 10:03 PM
But didn't the GOP just say there was *zero* inflation? 🤨

Reminder: Larry Kudlow, still just a potato.
Mike Johnson: "That's the reason the inflation is up, the cost of living is up so high -- because of the policies of the previous administration. Now, we're working to root those policies out and implement our own, but it takes a little time."
November 10, 2025 at 9:32 PM
Saying, "I don't like that" doesn't actually count as doing anything. 🤨
I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis.

Sure, Jan.

Mike Johnson on the Republican healthcare plan: "We've got notebooks full of ideas."
November 10, 2025 at 9:28 PM
Note: The GOP doesn't "pay the money to the people."
Trump: "We want a healthcare system where we pay the money to the people instead of the insurance companies. We're gonna be working on that very hard over the next short period of time. Where the people get the money. We're talking about trillions and trillions of dollars."
November 10, 2025 at 9:16 PM
Forget that--I want Boudica. 🔥
In a time when the Democratic Party urgently needs Winston Churchills, it has far too many Neville Chamberlains.

Why is nobody saying that astronomical increases in insurance premiums through the ACA will push millions of people off the ACA marketplace exchanges, thereby essentially killing the ACA? 💔
November 10, 2025 at 8:00 PM
Ew.

My last boss would walk out of the staff bathroom while hitching up his pants and refastening his belt--bc he never washed his hands after. 🤢

Oh, things will get worse. 😳

Trump has engineered the recession, and it's coming. #trumponomics
In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

Be reasonable: They needed that cancer fighting money for a shit ballroom and to make weapons to send to Israel for killing brown children.

How can anyone believe this SCOTUS will do better (in the majority) than the worst the GOP wants from them?

In other words, why trust this? 😳
The Supreme Court not taking Kim Davis’ crackpot appeal doesn’t “indicate” a lack of appetite to overturn Obergefell—just that this was a ridiculous legal argument. Pathetic framing here by the Washington Post. There is absolutely a ticking clock on marriage equality. DO NOT CONGRATULATE
November 10, 2025 at 7:28 PM
And when the astronomical premiums are due, knowing who cares but isn't actually doing anything about it accomplishes what, exactly? 🙄
Kaine on why he thinks just getting a vote on healthcare is a win: "We're the minority party, but everybody will get to see who is standing for them when it comes to lowering their healthcare costs"

*sigh*

Honestly? I think the message here is more like, "We're not into this one as a good test case." 🤦‍♀️
November 10, 2025 at 7:19 PM
Because a promise to "talk about it later" means what, exactly?!

Every one of these chuckleheads needs to be out of politics. All of them.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Very on-brand for the GOP, in line with the #WaronthePoor and #eugenics.

Anybody wondering why Americans are facing increasing levels of consumer debt and credit card defaults need look no further than the brutality of #trumponomics. This is a 100% engineered recession coming.
Trump intentionally starving Americans is a crime against humanity. Every other President--including Trump in his first term--ensured SNAP benefits during a govt shutdown were paid so that Americans in need could eat. But not Trump. My new article: deanobeidallah.substack.com/p/trump-inte...

To point out the extra stupid, the House didn't agree to even take up the issue, whatever the Senate does (which will of course be to kill it anyway).

Capitulating for < nothing. Not only did these Dems make no gains from the GOP but they have now lost trust/respect of their own constituents.
even a magic plan would work as well as just giving up. But the only way forward to save ACA subsidies in the short term was to make public pressure strong enough that the republicans would have to budge. And now that won't happen.

"Standing up to that bully didn't work when I collapsed in the corner and begged him to keep punching me."
--today's Democratic chuckleheads
OK, but the reason that it didn't work is because you quit, Senator. You see that, right? It was working, and then all of the sudden it didn't work *because you quit*.
Sen. Angus King: "Standing up to Donald Trump didn't work"

Srsly, Tim Caine?

Srsly?!

Anybody who ever had a parent tell them (or was a parent who said), "We'll talk about it later" KNOWS DAMN WELL WHAT THAT MEANS. 😑

*nod* And why put so much money into retirement? Most people won't retire this year, either! 🤦‍♀️
So based on this reasoning, why do we need property, car or life insurance either? This is how the system works.
Remember that insurance is actually a thing you hope never to use, and then read this critique.
