A blaring red warning signal for the rule of law; a President declaring “we’re just gonna kill people” without a trial or even a shred of due process.
Trump: "I don't think we're necessarily going to ask for a declaration of war, I think we're just gonna kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. We're going to kill them. They're going to be, like dead."

I shouldn't be surprised by anything he posts anymore but it feels so insane to be seeing a leader of any country post a video where they're dumping literal diarrhea all over their citizens. It's like a baby laughing while it fills it's diaper full of liquid shit except it's the fucking president

Unless and until some kind of compelling legal and moral argument is presented as to why this is a legitimate use of deadly force, this is just…mass murder.

DHS is repelling from helicopters into apartment buildings to raid them and zip tie children in the middle of the night while saying "fuck them kids." They're shooting at people on the streets and lying about it.

This is a hostile occupying force that is a threat to everyone's safety.

The Department of Homeland Security said federal agents with Border Patrol, the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested 37 people in the raid.

DEMAND THAT CONGRESS REVERSE THE SUPREME COURT AND BAN RACIAL PROFILING BY ICE, AS A CONDITION FOR FUNDING THE GOVERNMENT.

DEMOCRATS CAN MAKE THIS DEMAND. CONGRESS CAN FIX THIS. IT'S A TINY LINE OF LEGISLATIVE TEXT.
One day after the Supreme Court lifted the ban on racial profiling, federal agents swarmed a car in Van Nuys.

Four masked agents with guns drawn yanked people out, slammed them to the ground, and pointed a weapon at a pregnant woman.

There is no justification for this. None.

i find this image so fascinating. it is both a literal example of authoritarianism but also a second-hand reproduction of the aesthetics of other authoritarian states. it's like a simulacra of authoritarianism whose purpose is to attempt to make the simulacra real.
This is a real photograph of Washington, DC this week, where the United States president has ordered military occupation in peacetime, and ordered the display of colossal portraits of himself.

This is why I'm really not sure what the way forward looks like in American politics. The entire right wing of the country, whether they think they're "racist" by some arbitrary measure or not, is basting themselves in this kind of gutter racism all day on social media. How do we overcome this?
Is anyone in politics ever going to acknowledge or respond to the fact that the absolute most repugnant version of biological racism has been fully embraced by the most influential right-wingers in America? That literal neo-Nazi ideas are just standard claims on the right?

This is a good lens about how little actual effort it took for Collective Shout to manipulate these platforms. It usually takes 100x (or 1000x) as much effort to undo these kinds of destructive campaigns. bsky.app/profile/xuel...
The fact that they only needed ~1000 people to call in and email to get their way is actually pretty crazy. There are more people on some of the Discord servers I'm in that could equal their weight, and some of these are just podcast fandoms.

It’s a terrible bill. It will literally kill people. The most vulnerable among us will suffer as the wealthiest benefit. It’s perverse. I wish there were something I could do. But alas, I am only a U.S. Senator from Alaska whose “no” vote would kill the bill. So I voted yes. You get it.

The Supreme Court is about to go on an extended summer vacation, after having blown up the docket of every single lower court judge who has been working like a dog to deal with the firehose of illegal orders coming out of this administration.
If the Supreme Court thinks universal injunctions are unconstitutional, to wait until *now* to say that, in this of all cases, with this of all presidents, is a devastating indictment of both its impartiality and its prudence.

👇🎯 This stuff is the entire ballgame. And the fact that this hasn’t immediately ended this presidency is why none of us can seriously believe with certainty that the 2026/28 elections will be free, fair, & competitive. If 👇 goes unpunished, there is literally nothing a president cannot do.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

CALLS ARE WORKING - it has bought us precious time, but we NEED to keep the pressure up.

Tomorrow is the cloture vote.

KEEP CALLING: (202) 224-3121 ☎️☎️☎️

Tell your Dem Senator to vote NO on Cloture and NO on the Republican spending bill.

Do NOT assume your Senator will be good on this. Trust me.
🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.
