Man goes to the doctor, says his achievements are meaningless and lost in the sands of time.

Doctor says, “You should go see the ruined statue of Oxymandias, king of kings! Look upon his works, ye mighty, and despair!”

Man despairs, shaking sand out of his vast, trunkless legs, “But doctor...”

before making the "you wouldn't tell a domestic violence victim to do that!" argument, ask yourself: what is my goal? am I trying to minimize the risk of further violence, or am I trying to make sure the blame falls where it belongs?

too many people seem to think these goals are one and the same

Anything students at a Kansas high school write can get “Gaggled” — flagged by Gaggle Safety Management, a digital tool that uses AI to scan documents and emails for signs of unsafe behavior.

But students say it’s doing much more than that.

one time I accidentally deleted most of the storage quota for the office app suite offered by a fairly popular website, and then crashed the machine running the script to fix it

nothing got wiped, but I had to drive to the office in the wee hours of the night to unfuck it before anyone noticed
My resume is my mistakes they can trust me never to do again
