Watch the slow motion: it appears to me that the officers discuss the photographer and reporter before the one on the end fires on them (it looks to me like he's aiming at the camera, not the reporter, but you decide)

All true, but also amazing what a small savings this is for a project like this. If people reading your post can instantly put it into context as "about what Gunnar Henderson will get per year once he hits free agency" you have to leave that number out.
like clockwork once again andy byford achieved something amazing and paradigm-changing with almost no resources and was immediately undermined by the most dumbass politicians in history

In writing about Trump in the first term I kept coming back to the idea of trying to talk a drunk driver out of the keys. It's maybe not the best metaphor, although it's not wrong. Anyway he is most definitely not just driving but doing 75 in a 35 now. Feels like there are fewer options now.
For a photo op & a bragging media post, Trump minions at the USACoE have thrown away millions of gals of #water farmers were relying on for later this year. This water will not be captured, will not be useful for cities or farms or firefighting. It is now lost.

Acting on Trump's order, federal officials opened up two California dams
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers just opened up two California dams. A spokesperson says the flows are 'controlled' and being coordinated with local officials.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

I always feel strange doing this sort of thing but Defector.com has had an incredible January, just a ton of really good stories on a wide range of topics, and I suggest subscribing to it. I am biased, obviously, but I am really proud and grateful to get to do this the way we're doing it.

It’s really frustrating how even as so many people are working so hard for the rights of immigrants and trans people and everyone else this administration is endangering, Democratic politicians are like: “If they don’t knock it off, we will be forced to ask permission to tell them to knock it off!”

"The Chiefs dynasty is more annoying than the Patriots ever were" is crazy talk for several reasons, one of them being that the Patriots dynasty forced regular people to think about Boston

Common sense applied, which is very welcome.

People keep talking about Trump's trade war with Colombia raising coffee costs but do you know what we import more of from Colombia than coffee? That's right, fresh flowers! Just in time for St. Valentine's Day.

(we also import 7x THAT much crude oil from Colombia, so gas prices, and so on)

I’m so angry at so many people and institutions for allowing that monster to re-enter the White House. His wish to “clean out” Gaza is almost exactly the same language Kushner used about Gaza months ago - they are basically feeding Trump a script. A murderous, narcissistic script.
Jared Kushner calls Gaza seaside property 'very valuable,' suggests Israel 'move the people out then clean it up'

Please tell me in what world, a trip - 85 YARDS FROM GOAL - is considered a red card. That's the most textbook yellow card you will see.

Where is the precedent for a decision like that? There isn't any because Arsenal are always the precedent.
Another red card given to Arsenal that you won't see again this season. It happens all too often.
