The level of plot armor Trump has against, not even things that would sink another politician, but would get any other human set on fire forever, is so total & unprecedented I’m beginning to think the only possibly scientific explanations are genie’s wish, warlock powers, alien, or actual Antichrist
I know, I know, Trump raped kids & was accessory to killing a baby & the source is an official gov. doc they gave us, but have you considered Kamala laughed weird, Biden said the wrong name, Dean yelled too loud, Kerry was boring, Dukakis looked dumb in a helmet, Obama was black & Hillary existed?

I recently read @tkingfisher.com 's Thorn Hedge, and it was my kind of story.

Love a fairy tale that's got enough creepy bits to remind you not to mess with the fae, but it's not nightmare inducing.

Do you all have any recs like this? Keep in mind that I'm a lightweight with scary stuff.

Feels annoying that I have to specify that from here on out, politicians need to have adult-level emotional regulation.

I see many citing Tanith Lee as a good fantasy author to replace some tarnished names, which is great, love her, but do be aware she is balls to the wall, knee deep in the genre trenches, not safe for work or safe in any way, a wizard will sexually assault a horse skull and it's only chapter three

Holy Hecate. That is bad.
Oh, God, this is one of those "where do I even start" things, because Roblox is, like, *fractally* fucked. They are terrible at content moderation. A lot of the games are rated incorrectly, so kids can encounter graphic content (sex or violence) out of nowhere --

Her Unexpected Roommate is one of my favorite novels, specifically for the depiction of someone with treatment-resistant depression. I enjoyed the whole Cider Bar Sisters series, but that one especially.
I do mention my own books, but I don't talk about publishing much on social media anymore because it just feels too depressing, I guess?

A few weeks ago I was talking politics with a local, highly straight, bartender.

All the sudden he said: “Well, I think a big part of the problem is that so many of the people who would’ve been our progressive leaders died of AIDS & can’t help us now.”

And I’ve thought about that every day since.
