Give folks their flowers

No, I mean right now. Go tell someone you loved their work right now. They're on social media just say it, it has never been easier

"They know how much people love--" no they don't go say it right now to a composer or artist or game dev or writer or anyone AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

Doing non-video game stuff is important for gamedevs, so our heads don't implode.

-Go for a hike
-Grow some plants
-Watch a documentary
-Read some books
-Go to a gig
-Do some DIY
-Bake bread
-Talk shit with friends*

*The best

Maybe learn what they mean so you don't sound like an absolute tool.

This is Fox News pre-2005 complaining about anti-creationist/pro-evolution responses to the Christian zealots in public schools.

The world progresses. Progress with it, loser.
It would be a huge step forward for Democrats and for general clarity in political writing if these terms went away. These came mostly from academic hothouses.

We shouldn't be connected to the internet for more than an hour a day. It should be a network of hyper-esoteric knowledge and social circles, and facilitate our meeting others and joining events in real-life.

Not glued to scrolling-apps 24 hours every day.
i don't want to hear your most boomer complaint. what's your most millennial complaint?

Being raised Catholic (and becoming an apostate) helped me circumvent thus error. Power transcends capital both spatially and temporally. Power is thousands of years old. It invented enslavement. It invented feudalism. It invented capitalism. It moves through and reinvents itself.
One of the tenets of my own personal socialism is that capital will always work in its own interests, and seeing that assumption fail in such a spectacularly illogical direction is breaking my brain in a way I just did not anticipate. I simply don't know how to adjust my priors for this.
this is an absolute twenty alarm fire and I just cannot bring myself to believe capital, in one way or another, isn’t going to reel him in on this.

we can’t have a real economy without the goddamn labor numbers. it just doesn’t work.

Workers at the TCGPlayer Syracuse Authentication Center unionized and in response eBay/TCGPlayer fired all the staff

They're calling for people to boycott TCGPlayer and eBay! Don't cross the picket line!!!

Remmick's money was likely Celtic coinage from 2nd century BC, evolved from earlier Macedonian/Greek drachmae and used in the empire of Alexander the Great.

Remmick is an ancient being. Alive during the early land Enclosures of the Middle Ages at least.

It's been nearly 10 years and it still feels like yesterday afternoon. Like I'm hurriedly packing my bags to drive across the state to get to the hospital in time.

Every year the month of May feels the same.

Our hegemonic empire based on limitless global expansion has come to an end.

Our myth has ended. All future is devoured. All that is left for our mythos to promise is magic.

Stop using Stock Market signals as evidence of *anything*. For example "Tesla stocks are PLUMMETING! People are DONE with Elon!"

If you say this, you have no clue what you're talking about.

Traders buy the dip. You're doing Market PR for the Market itself.

you can not make yourself irreplicable or indispensable. you can not be layoff-proof. even if things actually would fall apart without you and everybody knows it.

Just as probably the most important point to make about online activism (particularly after the crackdown post-OWS in 2011): the search engines we currently use and our methods of information dissemination were partially constructed for intelligence gathering:

Alright, you convinced me!

Immerse yourself in the nostalgic charm of "El Pueblito", a sandbox adventure game that unfolds in the rural landscapes of 90s Michoacán, México.

You control a 10 year-old boy who is visiting family while his parents are taking a business trip to Japan.

My best advice for game designers is to be interested in and curious about lots of things besides games, and to do lots of things besides play games. It makes you a richer person and a better artist.
This is also true of tabletop games.
constant advice I give to folks in this space is to consume more than just games / games media.

read books. watch/read about sports. listen to unfamiliar music. see a movie that isn't an established IP.

if your world only holds games, that's the only context you'll be able to see them in.
