Today from The Detail: For years, a father has been fighting for Waka Kotahi to do more about the dangers of a vehicle braking system involved in his son's death. Now a coroner's report backs him up, but NZTA still disagrees.

This here - where Mamdani knows about the thing he is talking about - is a political superpower, where he listened to the briefing and read the positioning paper and remembered the workshop. Its what we need to demand from our politicians, coupled with an I dont know let me get back to you.
The fact that he can instantly provide *detailed answers* is borderline supernatural political acumen, of course. He has, somewhere in that brain of his, coherent ideas about how the (his term) 'streetscape' of NYC needs to serve its people, and he can bring them to the fore at a moment's notice.

the thing I hate the most about managing people is that sometimes you get staff who call out corporate shittiness and even when you agree with them, the deal you made with the capitalism machine means that you cant actually agree with them.

I didn't realize that moving into a two story home would mean that the second story is unusable in the afternoon. Central air is not really a thing in these NZ homes.

I dont really believe in gate keeping, but we need to normalise sitting down with people and saying, you're just not cut out for this line of work.
