Bipartisanship!
“Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are starting to privately admit it’s likely too late to avert a major premium hike for millions of Americans in 2026.”

In the medium of games, specifically, I would say that this sort of rigid adherence to “the lore” does more damage than good. Games thrive on authenticity, not dogma.

Secondarily, it creates an inflexible “true state” that curtails players’ ability to act in the opportunity space the game proposes.
Obsessive devotion to continuity is the enemy of epic/mythological storytelling—especially when there are many authors involved. Whether we're talking about Star Wars, superheroes, or Bond, the answer is to nail the essence of the story and care less about making it all "fit."
Or just have him start the next film alive and well and then at some point have someone be like "Bond! I thought you got blown up!" And then have him quip "you know better than to listen to rumors," or "what can I say? That was no time to die" and then absolutely refuse to explain further

One CEO called the idea a “disgusting insult” and “economic genocide against the Gen Z generation.” 👀

If your Humanity falls past a certain threshold, you have to buy Twitter or own Amazon.
Humanity vs the Beast. How far has one of your characters fallen into being a true monster? Or how far up the ladder of humanity have they managed to climb?

I remember seeing a “meet the congressperson” segment on the internet once and my takeaway was that Nancy Pelosi had more ice cream in her freezer than I had food in my fridge.

Just astounding, all the effort devoted toward an extension of the shitty ACA and therefore the ongoing for-profit insurance industry instead of a functioning national health care program. Americans are propagandized hostages fighting to increase the profit of their abusers.

The first true cold snap of the season and I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to do a pressure-cooker beef stew. Magnificent comfort food and super-easy with an InstantPot. Throw a bunch of awesome stuff in a bucket, push "Yeah, Man," and just let it roll.

It's 20 years since @seanphillips.bsky.social and I exchanged a sketchbook back and forth in the mail, a drawn &painted call and response. INTERSECTIONS may be out of print but here is a flip through that sketchbook. You can still find the book out there :)

Landslide win for a guy who guy who campaigned on "let's make things better, not worse," while earlier in the week the establishment arm of that party wallowed in apologetics for the death of a profiteering war criminal.

One time we were told "Graybox is fine for this stage gate" and then got a NO GO because the lack of finished assets in the build made it impossible to forecast if art would be content-complete by ship. (The supporting documentation included the art road map indicating that it would be complete.)
seriously how do you get to a lead role in the games industry without understanding concepts such as "greyboxing" or "bugs not yet fixed in this version". like what is the career path, for these people?

It's also pretty straightforward capitalist metaphor. From the first-edition setting of the hollowed-out American Rust Belt to the fifth edition's omnipresent authoritarian Second Inquisition, the vampire is something that takes but does not create and the player character coming to terms with that.

Okay, so what if we did the mortgage-backed securities collapse again but this time the specious collateral was a business forecast of imaginary robots that plagiarize things instead of, like, houses.
