This got me thinking, we're probably not too far off a time where we can choose whether to visibly age. Don't want grey hair/wrinkles/beer belly/saggy neck/baldness etc? Fine, take some tablets, have an injection, whatever, done. I'd jump at it obvs. But what happens once it's a choice for everyone?
I'm considering dyeing my hair grey. Saw myself in the mirror - a slightly overweight, pasty-skinned guy in my late forties, with a full head of thick, dark hair that looks like I must be faking it. Looked ridiculous.

Holy shit.
this defies parody. also helps explain why Sec Bessent bizarrely blamed immigrants when confronted with a question about high beef prices

How come the people who were splashed all over the papers for a decade screaming terrifying abuse at the anti-racist movement are now roaring approval in unison for the government stripping jewellery off migrants? It’s almost like we should put two and two together about what these people have done.

Well, indincationsseem to be that no ones arsed either way so I may as well carry on. So... how is everyone?
I quit this place and all the other ones months ago so I'd spend less time faffing on my phone etc. Inevitaby I've since gone from taking the occasional peep to frequent scrolling, but not posting so I can still pretend I'm not here. So do I just start posting again, or nuke my accounts altogether?

Intrigued that the Labour Party has a Denmark policy - seize jewellery and assets from asylum seekers - and also an anti-Denmark policy - don’t tax middle earners enough to support welfare state.

The only Legitimate Concerns about asylum seekers are concerns for their well being and safety. For a rich country like ours to incessantly whine about these people as if we are their victims is perhaps the single most pathetic spectacle in British politics over the past quarter century.
No, I'd say it's racists and those pandering to them.

I’d focus less on the “Oh no, the factional lads are doing factionalism” and more on “This entire project was always an absurd fraud, and now it is nationally calamitous one and nobody knows what to do”. It’s the latter point that’s going to be more important, in the long run.

When we faithfully transcribed your every fart and whistle from 2018 to early 2025 - quite possibly the nastiest, bullshittiest era in British political history - we did not expect it to lead to all this poisonous sneaking and finger pointing

Mr McSweeney, when we gathered in secret in 2018 to scribble down your list of idiotic accusations against your colleagues and then relentlessly stampede every word of your drivel onto front pages as revelations and a terrifying national emergency, we did not expect “a toxic culture of briefing”

I'm in the Niger Delta and I just watched a man who had to abandon his home because his family members were dying one after the other from diseases caused by oil pollution pull crude oil from the water well outside his old house.

Hiya. I've got another Fuse referral code thing, details as below. Hit me up if you want it.
If anyone's looking at switching energy suppliers at the moment I've got a referral thing for Fuse which apparently nets us both between £25 and £150 if used. They were cheapest on the market when I switched the other month and seem to have decent reviews. Let me know and I'll send you the thingy.

I say this with the bluntness it requires: they will get people murdered if this continues. This is not just populism anymore either: it’s completely unhinged and a deliberate choice that does endanger lives. I am not saying this lightly at all.

Ok. They’ve pissed me off.

I’m back to tell you 3 things about ID cards:

1. Migrants ALREADY HAVE biometric ID cards & govts have been trying to digitise them for years w repeated fuckups & failures causing complete chaos - they don’t work, you do not want that system for you.

You cannot lift a rock near any major institution in this country without a gusher of long-concealed corruption, bullying, sexual harassment, fraud, malfeasance and/or crimes against humanity roaring up to the sky. Why would anyone trust such people with national ID cards, or indeed with anything?

If every person currently trapped in the hell that is the UK’s immigration system was just granted citizenship tomorrow the state would save a fortune. This government (like those before it) is more interested in cruelty, bureaucratic violence & racism than human dignity
A BBC investigation finds asylum seekers trapped in dilapidated hotels, spending years in administrative limbo, indebted to criminal gangs and yes, moved arbitrarily so that they have to take taxis across the country for routine GP appointments.

Government response? Stop the taxis.
