@jrowanbxl.bsky.social requests lamb. Some of you will recall that I did a slow-cooked lamb recipe for @brokenbanker.bsky.social but that was Greek, this time let's go Quebecquois.
From today, since we've raised about £500 (thank you!) for the RNLI, one screenshot of a donation to this bunch gets you one recipe.

Type, difficulty, tolerance friendliness, all up to you.

Give me a screenshot, feed a family, eat well.
As winter starts to bite, please think of the refugees and asylum seekers who depend on organisations like ours for food and shelter on a freezing cold day.
Just £5 could buy a hot meal for someone at one of our winter Drop-ins. Visit www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/stand-with... Every donation doubled. 🙏

It will never not be compelling to me that the same people who produced Goldeneye - a fun, campy Bond in which Bond is both younger than he was in Licence to Kill but also apparently was around in it, also said “you know what Bond needs? Lore!” in the 2020s.
“It’s impossible to reboot Bond” says production team who decided Bond first got his licence to kill in the 21st Century, as Daniel Craig, then got incredibly old within two films and was being put out to pasture, but also had Sean Connery’s 1960s car.

It’s Bond. Just do whatever the fuck you like.

“So it was, on that misty morning, that Brenda set off for the capital. She knew not what she would find there, only that the time had come to move on - away from small-minded rural attitudes and people who called her ‘Oreo’ and ‘the wide panda’ - to seek a more fulfilling life.”

The worry, even if one would never dream of reading Teen Vogue and are far too old now (c'est moi), should be that we are seeing the death of a certain type of intelligent writing aimed at and written by the under 30s. Here in the UK, the NME, Maker, Smash Hits died. For shitty video and adverts.
thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.

I think the 80s ban is salient to what’s going on right now, but not in the way that Jenrick or the people cheering WMP’s call think.

(I am not including Gen Boles in the latter group.)
Can't believe UEFA banned our clubs for *checks notes* 'antics' in the 80s

A "pro-Palestine' march passes me in Bath. Perhaps they're good people, I think to myself. The hippyish Quakers I remember from, say, being a member of Bath CND in the 80s. They're not *necessarily* antisemites, I say. So I check out their X feed. And it's awful.

Massive Attack showing, apart from anything else, that they have very little idea of what it's actually like to be under a massive attack
The request by Massive Attack to remove its music from Spotify, in protest against the platform’s founder investing in the military AI company Helsing – which produces drones defending Europe against Russian aggression – is bizarre, to say the least. 1/3

In my new role as a Your Party Enjoyer I must inform you there are now the following factions:
> Democratic Bloc (Mish Rahman etc.)
> Zarah Sultana (affiliates TBD)
> Our Party (Owen Jones a fan)
> Jeremy Corbyn and his payroll
> The Gaza Independents (you'd better believe they're a faction)
I might become a Your Party commentator. All the people one had to understand to properly analyse Labour's antisemitism and other failings under Corbyn are back - this time as farce - and that's specialist knowledge.

Worth remembering that when Corbyn was Labour leader he managed to simultaneously be endorsed and denounced by two different versions of UB40.

Thought I'd just pop back from my general boredom with social media to see how 'The Nice Place' is reacting to the news of the murder of a 31 year old father of 2.

Yeah, maybe shouldn't have bothered....

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that murder is bad, even when someone you vehemently disagree with is the one who is murdered.

We’re not talking about a dictator or a terrorist here. Having abhorrent views isn’t a reason why anyone should die.

I haven’t seen anyone celebrating it, yet, because I don’t follow scum. AFAIK. I have seen more attempts at ‘context’ than I have on the Literal Hitler Site, and frankly, if you recognise yourself in that description, have a word with yourself.
