If anything these places point to the success of a very specific political project to further concentrate wealth at the very top.

This sort of framing of stories about 'left behind' places is getting very tired. How have they been 'failed' by politics? They are the product of political choices - which organisations like the BBC have often failed to explain to people.
Inside Horden, the County Durham town failed by politics
In Horden, County Durham, Westminster slogans have long been left unmet as the population has plummeted.

Ouch. That is far too relatable a quote.
Noonan's got monologue in "What Happened Was..." that wrecked me: "It’s like something broke in me a long time ago, and I don’t know what it was and it’s too hard for me to keep trying. There are a lot of things I want to do with my life and I’m so far behind now, I’m never going to catch up."

Cov's next two games are away to WBA and Sheff Utd.

If they're still top this time next Wednesday, they'll deserve it.

I'd take a draw right now. A draw is better for #Boro than FLC. We'd still be top. They'd have missed a chance to regain control. Their long wobble would continue, fretting fans would freak. I think we'll win mind. #Rara #UTB #Boro

A giant loss: Robert Duvall is gone. An extraordinary artist who was fluent in every dialect of film acting, from ice-cold underplayer (The Godfather) to expert naturalist (Tender Mercies, The Apostle) to balls-to-the-wall maniac (Apocalypse Now). One of our all-timers. Plunge into that filmography.

Probably my final point on BrewDog for today, but a lot of the coverage has their "rise" the wrong way round.

They 'broke out' because they won a NATIONAL distribution contract in a Tesco craft beer contest.

Tesco birthed BrewDog, not Watt's 'shock jock' marketing approach. That came AFTER.

Tomorrow night's being built up as the pivotal clash of the titans but paradoxically, I think it's a free hit for us.

Win or draw, great but even if we lose, we're 5 pts clear and will be a point off top with two winnable home games next. #Boro #UTB
