this is a ludicrous article

if you think James Bond has a rigid canon and that films should respect the events of previous ones, you're not just ignorant of the franchise, but you have no business making creative decisions tbh
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

weird thought: if Labour do properly collapse at the next GE, they’ll likely be left with a weird group of MPs who survived on random local dynamics/vote splits/personal votes, some of whom will potentially be doomed to lose in 2033/34 no matter what

the Dutch Lib Dems winning a General Election is an absolutely crazy result

as I said when Jeremy Corbyn and Catherine Connolly said the same thing: this is, explicitly, a pro-Russia political position
There is always money for war, never for the poor.

Every penny spent on bombs, tanks and missiles is stolen from our homes, schools and hospitals.

We are not going to take it anymore.

fine, I guess i'll have to be the first Ulster Presbyterian elected as President of Ireland
🚨 Heather Humphreys has told RTÉ she concedes the Presidential Election and has congratulated Catherine Connolly on her victory.

Because from where we are now, it seems, really

that everything is growing in a thousand different ways

that the soil is soaked through with old blood and with relatives who were buried here, or close to here, and they are giving rise to what is happening, or can you tell me otherwise?
Quick preview of numbers being released tomorrow… special for my Bluesky peeps:

Alaska Survey Research
October 10-15, 2025
N=2,083 adults (1,957 RV, 1,708 LV)

2026 Alaska US Senate (LV)

Mary Peltola (D) 48%
Dan Sullivan (R) 46%
Undecided 6%

Sullivan’s negative hits 50% for the first time.

Macron needs to call in the experts in running a country with zero political leadership and no chance of forming a stable government, and simply let the Northern Irish Civil Service run France for a bit

get Sue Gray to the Élysée by late this afternoon imo

despise the narrative that Eurovision is “non-political” - it was not coincidental that the Contest grew out of the push for European integration among Western European states in the 1950s

the year ABBA won, the Contest had three fascist dictatorships competing!
Also find it ironic that the contest’s push as a non-political event is the reason for Eurovision’s long running success, but also the reason why it all might fall apart.

Ross Greer says he won't prop up a Labour-led government

so a (plausible) Holyrood outcome that looks like this next May leads to...a second election in the autumn?

this post, on a totally different topic, is the clearest explanation of the rhetorical/political strategy of the anti-trans rights campaign in Scotland in the last decade or so
The NIMBY three step: “I participated in the public process and did not get my way” becomes “I was left out of the decision making process” and then turns into “I deserve the power to overturn the result of the public process and impose my will on the majority by lawsuit.”
