Think I've found a not-so-terrible way to improve the distant forests thing: it uses the same probabilistic spawning as entities, just per-vertex, which makes it sort of bumpy up close. Still not perfect, but better than a flat surface.

I will say that nothing is more baffling to me than the industry standard that we teach developers about publishing by having them listen to talks and panels by publishers. It's like fiscal responsibility taught by a loan shark, privacy taught by Google, or human rights taught by Israel.

I get it but I really dislike the "the political climate is tense" phrasing the same way I don't like the "Gaza war" phrasing - we're foregoing that one side is people who want to live and the other side is people who have more power and both the means and intent to destroy and harm.
