In 1978, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors downzoned the city, banning multifamily homes in many areas and sparking a decades-long affordability crisis.

47 years later, on a 7–4 vote, they passed the Family Zoning Plan to finally begin to undo that mistake.

The times, they are a-changin’!

If you showed up at a hearing, sent a letter, told your friends, or organized to make this happen, THANK YOU

Curious if anyone out there has written a draft letter expressing resistance to AI in schools (grade and post-sec) for public use. If not, I might be up for the job in drafting a template letter that points to facts and examples, verified by actual experts in the field. Something needs to be done.
These videos need to be sent to the administration of every school espousing "AI is the future" to remind them of the kind of future they are helping to solidify where violence, racism, and misogyny are enacted under a veil of fantasy.
The purpose of a system of is what it does.

I honestly don’t get the value of this company. They hoover up energy and water. Their product constantly gets things wrong and, in extreme cases, coaches people into suicide.

And it’s all built on what seems to be malicious and vast intellectual property theft.

What does OpenAI offer the world?

Hi. I wrote an essay about AI slop: How it feels like an invasive species for the internet. How its boosters describe building a future that’s devoid of craft. How frictionlessness can be nihilistic & how this stuff seems to leach part of our shared humanity out of the world. I hope you'll read it.
