Just unpacked this Kickstarter bonanza. If you were a gamer in the 80s you may have, as I did, loved these paper-and-dice Fighting Fantasy gamebooks. A mix of solo #TTRPG rules-lite and choose your own adventure. Now 'remastered' and gorgeous. Hours of entertainment coming for me!

1) @washingtonpost.com reported Thursday on a controversial policy downgrading how nooses and swastikas are labeled in the Coast Guard.

2) Admin officials attacked The Post, falsely alleging the reporting of "fake crap."

3) The CG said it would review policy language.

4) The CG reversed course.

The top 5 highest-grossing actors* — by box office for movies they appeared in — are:

1) Stan Lee
2) Samuel L. Jackson
3) John Ratzenberger
4) Frank Welker
5) Bob Bergen

* all roles, including cameos.

If you only count LEAD roles, Samuel L. Jackson is still #2, with #1 being Scarlett Johansson.

The Ten Commandments aren't numbered. Different faith traditions break up the text in different ways, such that referring to (say) the 8th Commandment is NOT universal.

We can reconstruct two Proto-Indo-European verbal roots meaning 'to fart' but still cannot reconstruct a common PIE word for 'finger'.

The "liver, fava beans and a nice chianti" line in Silence Of The Lambs is a little joke for psychiatrists in the audience - those foods cannot be consumed with the meds (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) that Lecter is supposed to be taking.

No one works every human-done job like Elon

Oh, there's no one on Earth who just might be
More perfect, a pure paragon
You can go ask the Good Lord Almighty
And you know who She'd pick over Mike or LeBron
Elon's the throat goat. That's canon now.
Might be Grok’s boldest claim yet, even over saying Musk is more athletic than LeBron

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
