Disney/ABC have a responsibility to refuse to participate in corruption.

Kimmel must be reinstated. If Disney/ABC agree to this extortion then perhaps creatives + workers should consider collective action to push back. Same w/buying park + cruise tickets if they bow.

Across the NIH and NSF, billions in research grants have been frozen or cancelled. The National Cancer Institute faces a $4 billion slash - a 37% cut.

Those aren’t abstract numbers. Those are cancelled Alzheimer’s trials. Stalled cancer studies. Dead-end cures.

It happened because the rules weren’t followed, and the system wasn’t ready.

Someone mentioned NORAD's "Santa Tracker" yesterday in a thread, so... let's talk about it. Do you know how it started? And why it still exists?

In 1955, SEARS ran an ad to encourage kids to call Santa and they misprinted the number. The number they printed rang a "red phone" at NORAD! 🧵

Lovely story 😊
Here's a true story about my dad. When I was little, we were on a beach in Oregon and he found a message in a bottle.

The note contained an address, with a plea in a young boy's handwriting to send a postcard and let him know how far the bottle had traveled.

RFK Jr’s nomination is the repudiation of a century of unprecedented and miraculous progress in public health.

We take it for granted because we don’t recognize how far we’ve come.

How to Lose a Century of Progress
Americans have been too quick to condemn the field of public health, overlooking its massive achievements in the 1900s and, yes, during the recent pandemic, too.
