Israel has deliberately starved the people of Gaza.

It said it was starving Gaza over and over again.

It has done so systematically - with the full complicity of the West.

Israel has deliberately starved the people of Gaza. It couldn’t have done it without the west's help | Owen Jones
The current hand-wringing by Keir Starmer and other western politicians is empty bluster. They knew what was happening all along, says Guardian columnist Owen Jones

- He hasn’t accepted that he’s a lame duck

- The process, whatever its outcome, is an extended news event that will inform and influence American voters

- It would give the Senate Democrats another chance to try making it a real trial of the facts

-It’s the only remedy the Constitution affords us
What would the point be of another Trump impeachment when he’s a lame duck and Rs won’t convict him?

Dems need an answer for the remnant of resistance people who are demanding impeachment but far more important for them to use normal Oversight powers effectively.
Schumer on CNN stops short of saying impeaching Trump would be a priority for Dems if they retake Congress

If you think what happened to Rumeysa Ozturk can't happen to you because you're a citizen and she's not, you are sorely mistaken. Ozturk was snatched off the street not for being a national security threat but for having a wrong opinion. If we don't put a stop to this, it's coming for all of us.

It's not a flap. It's not a debacle. It's a *crime* that disclosed just how cavalier those entrusted with our nation's are about the safety of the American people. And we only know about because it was committed by buffoons.

While it's true that Democrats in Congress -- and especially the House -- have relatively little power right now, what they can do is use their local offices to find people suffering from Trump's policies, like this caller, and lift up their voices and tell their stories

It is mind-boggling to me that people say "but I had to comply with the fascists because otherwise there would be some cost—"

NO FUCKING KIDDING. Did you think you'd never have to make a hard choice in Fascist America? That you wouldn't be asked to sacrifice someone and be rewarded for it?? JFC
“We had to erase trans people or we couldn’t get our federal funding”

Fuck the federal funding. You fight, you sue, you do not become complicit in our mass erasure.

We are all in this together, and we all go down together.

I will not allow us to be jettisoned or erased.
FWIW, the choice was scrubbing their website or potentially closing down because their funding was turned off. Sure they could have sued, but what then?

Yeah, these federal workers actually understand what they do for us and how devastating these cuts are for us.

It'd be great if the media could explain that clearly instead of taking Elon Musk's word that he's magically produced "savings" that come with no downside.
btw, i will tell you this - i have been talking to people all day, and the media is missing, whether intentionally or not, how absolutely, volcanically angry the people who have been fired are, not because they lost their jobs, but because their jobs matter, *to us*
alright, for the evening crowd, i've got a rhythm worked out and have already had the opportunity to talk to a few of you. if you're interested in participating, read the write-up here and then holler at me using the instructions and we can figure out a time that works.

USAID.gov is down. Why is this concerning? Trump has no legal authority to eliminate a congressionally funded independent agency. The work of USAID is vital, and if this can happen to them, it can happen to any of us.
