Hey everyone, I apologize for being radio silent for a month and a half. Been out of town.

My father passed away on the 15th after a tough battle with cancer. I'm staying here a while longer to help my grandma figure things out.

Catch you all soon. Rest in peace, dad. <3

Some more data on this field -- it's really shaping up! I like this orientation better. Also, I just noticed the "hobbit door" toroid in the lower left. What's up with that? Star Rucba, reflection neb VDB 134, and "bubble" planetary PK86+5.1.

What's out there in the universe? We don't know until we look.

The COWLS project scanned 42,000 galaxies and found hundreds of previously unknown gravitational lenses -- places where the pull of massive galaxies has warped space & bent starlight into arcs and rings. 🧪🔭

A lovely target at this time of year, the Heart nebula. IC 1805.

Taken over 6 sessions during the last month. Processed in the false colour SHO "Hubble" palette to show the distribution of different gases that make up the nebula.

Total integration was just over 15 hours.

Almost exactly 30 years ago, the first extrasolar planet was identified orbiting a main-sequence star.

Now, not only can we directly image planets orbiting other stars, but we can see planets *being born*

Imagine what the next 30 years will bring.

Mosaic image by Michael Jäger and Gerald Ehemann, showing more than 12° tail for comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon).
Visually the comet is around 6.5 mag, and for me the visual tail length is still below 1°.
Max magnitude most likely around 3 mag towards Oct/Nov .

Well, I finished #OuterWilds yesterday.

Definitely had some ups and downs with the game, and a few moments where I wondered how everyone could love it so much.

Then I got to the end...those last 6 or so hours absolutely made up for the rough patches. Tears were shed. I get it now.
