Tonight is Christmas Eve, when we in Iceland open presents. All the Yule Lads have already come down from the mountains, but tonight the Yule Cat arrives and he will eat all the children who weren't gifted any new clothes for Christmas.

My daughters both got woollen socks so they are safe 🙏

Early this morning, our city still plunged into darkness, I set off to walk the Brooklyn Bridge.

As the sun came up, we were joined by canvassers, labor leaders, elected officials, and working people — a movement to bring a new day to our city.

Tomorrow, we win it together.

Bertrand Russell, at 89 years old, to Sir Oswald Mosley, a man most famous for founding, in 1932, the British Union of Fascists.

I'm all for civil discourse. But everyone can and should draw a line at who they will talk to.

Notice that Russell did not demean himself with incivility, either.

After the media damage is inflicted and seen by millions of eyes, you receive a private email to say there's no evidence and no action, seen by two people only

There's no public apology. They don't send this to media or post it on police accounts

We will continue to fight.

We will continue to win.

This isn’t a war. It’s a genocide. Over 54,000 people in Gaza killed. The EU still rewards Israel with a 16B€/year trade deal. We can help suspend it — sign the petition now! share.myvoice-mychoice.org/s/Jn2b7TN3

Gion Matsuri — one of the most iconic and historic festivals in 🇯🇵 — is held every July in Kyoto, with the main parades taking place on July 17 and 24. Dating back over 1,150 years, the festival began as a religious ritual to pray for the end of an epidemic and natural disasters.

Furin (wind chimes🎐) are recognized as a symbol of summer in Japan.

At Heian Jingu Shrine in Kyoto ⛩️, around 1,000 wind chimes are now displayed along the vermilion-painted corridors until late August.

Visitors can buy a strip of paper to write a wish on.

Palestinian children are suffering day after day as the Israeli bombardment and siege continues.

These children have names, they have hopes and dreams for the future.

They are someone's everything, their entire universe.

We refuse to allow their suffering to become normalised.

One of the great under-reported stories of Trump’s ignorance (insanity?) is that for years he has made repeated comments about stealth fighters which suggest he believes they are literally invisible in the sky. His weirdness cannot be overstated.
Trump: The whole stealth thing—I'm sort of wondering. We shape a wing this way, they don’t see it but the other way they see it? I’m not so sure.
