He is a computer safety researcher.
And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

Dissolution is letting them off too lightly

Afghanistan cost taxpayers $2.3 trillion. We got zilch in return.
They've trained us to think that it's weakness to have government social programs. Actually, it's social investment.
Our taxes SHOULD go to education, healthcare, maternity, & other supporting systems instead of wasted on war. 🧵

Doing this in anticipation of what, one might ask
“More and more cabinet members — Rubio, Miller, Noem — live on military bases now, & it's another parallel to Iraq, where the administration lived in the Green Zone. There’s something deeply unhealthy about a society where leaders are literally shut off from the communities that they govern.”

This is a master class in how (not) to use data to review academic programs in #highered. How many program eliminations in the recent past have been due to failure to understand basic statistics? How many will there be in the future?
If you're following the #UNL #statistics saga (proposed for elimination based on bad stats), you might find the seminar we gave yesterday interesting... youtu.be/fUk2R0UYWpA
It was weird to rail against someone for an hour, but strangely cathartic, and the #datavis seems to have been effective?

Awful: Pentagon officials told lawmakers Trump now claims authority to bomb people merely “affiliated” with “narco-terrorist" groups, Rep Adam Smith tells me. But under questioning, they wouldn't say what “affiliated” even means!
