Not the actor from Star Wars, Dr Who, or The Tweenies - asking me trivia on any of these risks fabricated replies.
Open to exchanging opinions on Leeds, music, politics, Age of Sail navy, and vague memories of the 20th century.
Hey @gary-loader.bsky.social - look what I got!

I know there’s a lot of discontent about recruitment, but I can’t be alone in thinking this #lufc squad should be better than the sum of Farke’s parts?

Not able to watch it, but just checked stats on BBC - I assume there’s a problem with the feed for the #lufc stats, because apparently we’re not involved?

Another thoughtless, ill-considered BBC headline. Junior copybots need editors around to say “just have another go at that” from time to time.

19.5 stone - I questioned how many people would be affected by this, but apparently it’s 2,200. People are big these days.

Lose weight or lose your jobs, offshore workers told - BBC News
Thousands of offshore workers are too heavy for the limitations of helicopter winch systems.

How are you getting on with that Life of WG Grace script that it’s just occurred to me you ought to be writing @paulsinha.bsky.social ?

Did that Remembrance Poppy madness account not make it to this platform? A shame if it didn’t - I want to see front gardens filled with crocheted Tommies, plastic flags, wonky silhouettes of the fallen, and random bits of “army stuff”, with poppies bigger than a house.

Lest I forget.

Lone and level
Vast and trunkless legs of stone
Wrinkled lip, shattered visage’s frown
On the pedestal these words appear,
Look on ye mighty and despair
My name is Ozymandias

Just recommended My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult to my youngest, and ended up explaining promo inserts:
“This is the record label doing their own ‘You might also like…’, but in paper. Then, rather than download, you could Mail Order records & T-Shirts”

FIRST time so far that I’ve heard this clarification that it is a civil, not criminal offense.

You have idiots dressed up like they’re storming Iwo Jima, taking people down to the concrete, beating them, shooting them, for NON-CRIMINAL offenses.

Take back this narrative

Right fucking now

What the fuck? Scum up to 4th? Have I switched timelines? I thought this was the year they bounce around the relegation zone and meltdown until Casemiro gets sacked and Rooney takes over.

This isn’t nearly as much fun.

First ten minutes of BBC News at Ten was two items about criminal asylum seekers. Fifteen minutes into the programme they touched on this “local item” from London.

Starmer’s nobody’s favourite, but he has got a lot to work against.

“Our parents aren’t having children…”
My brother’s coming to stay tomorrow night - I must ask him who the fuck we are if this is true…
RFK Jr: "Today the average teenager in this country has 50% of the sperm count, 50% of the testosterone of a 65 year old man. Our girls are hitting puberty 6 years early ... our parents aren't having children."

The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.
